Wrestler class: help me come up with ideas and abilities

Well, I want to create a Wrestler class. It's an unarmed combattant, but unlike the monks it has no Asian flavor (i.e.: martial arts, flurry of blows, etc.) and no supernatural abilities. However, if it's just to have fighter feats and damage dice, I don't see the point. So, if you have ideas to make a unique and interesting Wrestler concept, I would like to read them.

Thanks.

I'd start with the Reaping Mauler PrC in Complete Warrior.
Thanks for the info...

But I would like to get OGC ideas and concepts, freely given here, and no need for me to buy books that I don't have. ;)

Does this have to be a strictly non-magical type class, like fighter or rogue, or can it have spell-like abilities like a monk? Because without eventually gaining some innate ability to disable or ignore freedom of movement effects, the class will end up quite useless at higher levels.

As the wrestler advances in levels, it'd be cool to let him enlarge himself X times/day, to help his grapple mod. Although in RL, having leverage helps a lot, and it's easier to get that levarage if you're short (and built like a dwarf). Oh well.

I think the class should also be adept at tripping (imp trip at some point), as well as grapping. It should be a good general tactic to take someone down, then try to pin them. Also, perhaps allowing the wrestler to retain his dodge bonuses against other opponents, at a max amount that increases with char. level (sort of like armors' max dex bonus restriction). And of course, they should be able to inflict lethal damage with their grapples if they choose, albeit not as much as monk.

As for class skills, maybe: escape artist(?), tumble, concentration(?), jump, bluff(?), craft (everyone has it), intimidate(?), perform (even if authentic (not pro) wresting, it's still a sport, and thus entertainment). Eh, on second thought just copy the monk's skill list, it's close enough.

Another option would be to give them some kind of bonus each level or two to their grapple checks. That would show their experiance in those types of manuvers. Another things I would add is that at 1st level they do not provoke an AoO when making an unarmed attack to start a grapple or trip.

Check out the Dreadnought Advanced Class from the d20 Future SRD on the Wizards.com for some inspiration. It's pretty much the way I see wrasslers.

Improved Trip (Knockdown)

Improved Grappling Feats
eg Chokehold (suffocation effects), Sleeper hold (puts target to sleep), Pin (target immobile), Improve Pin (target effectively helpless allowing a for a CdG)

Other Techniques
Improved Bullrush and Trample, Bodyslam, Stunning Blow, Knockback, throwback

Improved unarmed combat damage and the ability to penetrate DR at higher levels

a Rage like ability that effects Str, Dex and Con

"Pro Wrestler" gets bonuses to preform, bluff, and all damage dealt to and by him is subdual, if your going for realism
