Wrinkel in Time

Remus Lupin

I'm a bit surprised that there's not already a thread about this. Did anyone watch the Disney version on ABC last night? My wife was teaching it in school this year, so we taped it to show for her class.

Those of you who watched it, what did you think? I personally thought it was a pretty good adaptation. I'm thinking I need to go back and read the book, but I liked its interpretation of a number of the ideas in the book, and I think it distilled its substance quite well.

I didn't watch it - mainly out of fear that Disney was adapting one of my absolute favorite books from childhood - The last time they did it (The Black Cauldron) was pretty disastrous, IMHO.

Glad to hear the results this time were pretty good. I'll try to check it outwhen they put it on DVD.

I enjoyed it. I read the book in 6th grade, but that wasn't a great year, so I don't remember much about it. My mom managed to get me the whole series at book sales and I'm going to have her bring it up when she visits next month.

PS: A quick YAY for my mom for keeping such good book logs... I just checked in my copy and found the books listed. She's the best. :D

I thought it was pretty good. It has been forever though since I read the book so I don't have much to compare it to. It has inspired me to read the book again.

It was prety good. If you watch it, do keep in mind that the film really i9s intended for kids, not adults. Subtlety is not it's strong suit :)

It seemed a little odd that they'd schedule a three-hour program intended for kids on a weeknight, in such a way as it'd run past many of their bedtimes.

The movie does differ from the book, and if I remember the book correctly I personally would have preferred the book's version of at least one thing. But what they chose to do was not bad, and does seem to have been a bit shorter, so I can forgive it.

I TiVo'd it, but haven't watched it yet. Glad to know it was at least decent. I don't remember much about the book, but I'm looking forward to seeing this.
