I was just interested in hearing how all of you would do Wuxia (Chinese fantasy kung fu) in D&D. I'm looking strickly for d20 Dungeons & Dragons ideas and concepts.

For mechanics: Ken Hood's Skills-n-Feats Martial Arts and Psionics rules.. used to be on his Sleeping Emporium site..not sure where they hang around at now.

The combination of those rule sets allow all the Wuxia madness, including dancing across clouds {pre-epic balance checks}

Take a look at the Tome of Battle, aka Book of 9 Swords, from WotC. It's at least partly designed for a wuxia feel, and the cool thing is that you can use the stances/maneuvers system in there to model just about any kind of warrior-type.

Someday I'll run a Wuxia game where everybody is a gestalt character however one half of the gestalt must be single-class monk.

IOW the entire party would be gestalt monk/fighter (samurai), monk/rogue (ninja) and so forth. Should be about the right power level for a wuxia game I think.

We should march on Green Ronin with pitchforks and torches demanding they finally finish and release Dragon Fist!
I suspected that they did finished it. I also suspected that the release of WotC's ToB somehow stopped Green Ronin from printing DF. Could it be that they thought of the same mechanics as WotC?
