X-Men 1.5 DVD opinions?

Yeah. Well? Has anyone picked this up, and do you have any opinions? I already have the original DVD release of X-Men, but I'm looking to pick up a DVD this weekend (tripple-point weekend at Sam Goody), and this is one of the ones I'm debating on. Is it worth picking up if I already have the original?

I got this last week. Decent commentary; lots of "Making of" stuff on disk two; some nice (but too brief:) ) previews of X-men 2. One thing that surprised me was the movie ticket coupon--free admission (up to $12.00) to either Daredevil or X-men 2. On the whole I'm happy with it, though I wish this new release was what came out originally. If they're going to double-release, then go all the way like Lord of the Rings--both the original and the extended versions were worth my money.

My brother is happy with X-men 1.5, because it means he'll get my original X-men DVD. :)

Honestly, the commentary and such is of little interest to me...

How are the deleted scenes that the box hints at briefly? Anything good, like in LotR?

Wait a second...

With 1.5, owning the regular X-Men movie is pointless?

If this is so, LMK, maybe I can sell my old version on ebay or something...

I hate when they do stuff like this. They're milking my every penny, and I'm falling for it. :(

And this surprises you how?

They do this all the time, although not usually with a 2 year lag time. I'm guessing that they did it as a promo for the sequel.

Having disappointed you once, let me do so again regarding the deleted scenes.:( They seem to be the same ones as on the first release.

krunchyfrogg, basically yes--owning both is kind of pointless, which makes 1.5 a more painful kick in the junk unless you have someone interested in the older DVD.

Man, I'm just raining on everybody's parade :)

Well, not mine. I was actualy kind of hoping for that review... I didn't really *want* to purchase it, but if their was something signifigantly interesting in it, I might have.

Thanks. Narrows the choices down to Volume 3 of "His and Her Circumstances", Spiderman, and a wuxia flick...

Is the movie any different (recut or added deleted scenes) or is this just like most special editions where there's just a lot of commentaries about the FX (urgh! hate those, I want commentaries about the stories and casting and plot development, not some FX secrets that are gonna ruin my suspension of disbelieve!!).
