[Xbox] I have an awesome wife

First Post
We exchanged Christmas gifts last night because we'll be visiting relatives on Christmas day. One of the gifts my wife got me was an Xbox. This completely floored me, as she has been most reticent about getting any kind of console.

Anyway, along with the Xbox, I got:
  • Clone Wars/Tetris World (mostly for me)
  • Simpson's Road Rage (mostly for her :) )
  • Shrek's Dance Party (mostly for our 3-yr-old daughter)

Any suggestions of other titles? I enjoy games like Civilization, Master of Orion, Elder Scrolls, and the like.

IF you like Elder Scrolls.. then there is always Morrowind:GOTY( which includes the two PC expansions Bloodmoon and Tribunal making the game imense!) and SW:Knights of the Old Republic.

Strastegy games and 4x games don;t usually translate well to consoles so the Civ gameplay is hard to find.

I'll second the suggestions of Morrowind and Knights of the Old Republic. Excellent RPGs.

I don't know of any good Civ or MOO type games for XBox. Halo is really good; it's an FPS, but I'd still recommend it. MechAssault is good too, though, again, it's not an RPG or RTS.

Yes kingpaul stop everything. RUN dont walk and get Star Wars:KOTOR. Then be prepared to be chewed out by your wonderful spouse for ignoring her for the forseeable future as your life is absorbed by ths great rpg.

Simpsons Hit and Run (GTA style, and it's a Simpsons game that's actually good).

Shenmue 2, I love the series, but it's not for everyone. At least give it a rent and see what you think, there's a good chance you'll like it.

Arx Fatalis recently came out for the Xbox, it's a PC rpg that's in the Ultima Underworld vein, which was intentional.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x or 3. 2x has the first two games (effectively), but 3 may be the better game to pick up. Skip 4 and Undderground if you haven't played one yet.

Soul Calibur 2 or Capcom vs. SNK 2, both good fighting games, mostly a matter of taste.

More games to consider: Prince of Persia, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Otogi: Myth of Demons, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Grand Theft Auto double pack, Ninja Gaiden, the first Buffy game if you're a fan of the show.

Well, last night I used some Christmas $ and bought both Morrowind and KotOR. I haven't tried them yet, I'm still digesting the manuals and how to do things (last console I had was the NES...not as many buttons to deal with :) )

Ah, the NES, how I miss thee...

On an XBox not though, I bought one for my wife. She is a big Tetris nut, but she also picked up I,Ninja which is fun in a problem solving way (though I would prefer a bit more combat) and some Mummy game. I also bought Morrowind Gold for myself, but have yet to get a chance on the XBox. We rented and tried Simpsons:Hit & Run, which I absolutely loved. I'll probably buy it in the next few months.

I have two questions though:
1) Has anyone played Beyond Good and Evil? The reviews I've read were very good, and the box looked interesting.

2) What's this about the XBox Mark2?

I was simply being sarcastic about the release date of Fable. The games been in development for a long time so I was commenting it would come out in the Xbox's successor :)

I love P Molyneaux, but he has a tendancy to promise a feature laden game, put the game in development for years, then release a game with 30 percent of the stuff he said it would have.(ahem Black and White)..
