I agree. Plus if anything can be created by create undead spells, or summoned by summon monster or nature's ally those should be noted in the text of the monster or in a separate chart.

I'm glad about the list by types and subtypes -- this is very important to me. I suppose listing them byt CR within isn't a bad idea; it's probably more useful than alphabetizing them.

Yeah, I was not looking for a complete re-org, just a summary list like the WotC books have. Arranging that by CR is fine. A parenthetical CR value would make it nearly perfect.

For example:

Outsiders: monster name 1 (CR), monster name 2 (CR)

As I said, I more often know "I want a Fey near CR 4" or "I want a demon near CR 6" than I do "I want a CR 5 ... what looks good ?"
