xtra icons (smiles)

I have seen xtra or differnt icons from other sites used here. how would one go about doing that?

When you go to sites like http://mysmilies.com/ , you will see at the top or the bottom of the page a text field and an explanation like "Click on a smilie to get the neccessary image tag." You can copy that tag into your post to insert the smilie. Hope that helps!
