Yahoo! BillPay discontinuing service

Felon

First Post
So, I got email and snail mail informing me that Yahoo! was discontinuing their service. I have until September to figure out how to take care of my mortgage, utility, and credit card payments. I hate writing checks.

Any recommendations?

As with most adults.. we have the same type of bills and my bank covers them all for me. It even covers utilities and such.

Banks? Those things still around? Mattress full o'money is the only time-tested way to go...

Banks will do automated payments, but they don't automatically adjust to rate changes. I could get that with BillPay.

Actually not going to debate this, mine handles all of this for me and I haven't even had to deal with bills in 3 years. Life is good

Why not just go direct to the sources?

My credit card, phone, and electric companies all offer their own free internet pay setups, including recurring payment options. I've never touched my bank's BillPay, yet the only thing I pay for by check each month is rent to my landlord (since he's not "wired").

Peace & Luv, Liz

How do each of you pay for bill pay? I have considered it in the past and at the time it seemed more hassle and cost more than it was worth.

Most banks don't charge anything given a minimum balance and/or if you have your paycheck direct deposited there; some will without any prerequisites.

That's what we do. None of our utilities charge a fee. The one that wants to, we pay with a check.
