[YB] Kerall's Dojo - Merak come and read!

The Shadowed Poet wanders the streets and hidden vales of the fighting world and happens across this dojo, which seems to have the most poetic name of them all. He humbly seeks admittance.

Kerall, I beseech you
As master Under the Stars
That I might study and learn from you
To learn how not to act the fool.

I am an honorable fighter, true
But my ignorance the path to greatness bars
I hope the Dark fighters will one day rue
The day I joined your school.

Then, if you agree to be my new boss,
Teach me the ways of the Southern Cross.

The Poet awaits an answer nervously.

OCC: How does joining a Dojo work? Do I know that style as soon as Kerall accepts me? Do I have to fight somebody? I'd look it up but I have to leave for work now.

Kerall greets the Poet warmly. "I will teach you the style of the Southern Cross this evening, when the constellation will bless us with its view. Your choice of me as a teacher honors me".

That night the training under the starry sky is hard and long, yet fruitful and satisfactory.

OoC:
To join a dojo, you just have to ask and be accepted. In theory, the master can put any special requirement he wishes, but in practice noone that I know of does. You immediately gain the dojo style you asked for as your current dojo style. A honor fighter can only have one dojo style at a time (when you gain a tier, your current dojo style becomes a full-fledged sig style).

So, you now have the Southern Cross dojo style.

Remember to report all your victories and defeats in this thread.

A small alien walks nearby noticing the man in the kimono.

"Master, I am but a humble student, looking to be taught by someone with such prestige and honor as yourself. I am but a young fighter, but promise to fight hard and honor my dojo if you will teach me the ways of Thunder. Would you have me?"

OoC: Actually Zappo, I do know one exception. Your student, Sanctus Togashi, runs a dojo with a special requirement... that is actually a benefits package IMO. Anyway... back to slaying half-witted sash's who spread their coin across the battle field and call it gambling...

Kerall stares at the creature and after a while he says: "Well... that's great! It would be a great honor for me to teach you." I mean, he thinks, why limiting oneself to humans?

"Another student of mine, Sanctus Togashi, is also learning the Thunder style. We are going to have a good training session together this evening".

OoC:
Jezter6 now has the Thunder dojo style. Remember to report any victory or loss.

creamsteak, I was thinking about requirements for joining. IIRC, Sanctus has the requirement of the fight before leaving the dojo, but none for joining...?

It's a requirement that in order to join, you must accept the fact that if you rank your way out of the dojo (become a green belt) you must fight the dojo master.

Honorable Kerall, my fellow student, Jester6, and I have taken part in a friendly match. I was the victor, and thank you for teaching me well. Since it was an intra-dojo fight, the dojo record remains unchanged. I look forward to continuing to fight to preserve the honor of the Dojo Under the Stars.

Kerall nods. "Matches between students are a very good form of training".

OoC:
Record is now 10-6.

To avoid unnecessary posts, I'll usually just update the record in the first post of this thread from now on.

Sanctus Togashi comes in looking extremely disappointed. He is rather crude. "I lost to an amateur. There. Is that enough for you? No, wait, his name was Tori Sadoshi and he was defeated by three other white belts prior to pouncing on me. I was arrogant, and lost because of such."
