A suffusion of yellow
Brian sat back and enjoyed his third bowl of steamed rice and fish.
It was a good day to be alive - he was young, he was fit, he was strong and after the company of the geisha last night he was eminently happy.
"I wonder what is happening in the world today" he mused to himself as he put the now empty bowl aside. He took a long drink from the pitcher of Honeyed Water that his attendants had brought him and then rising to his full impressive 8' height, he adjusted his Kimono and went outside...

Stepping outside, you see the sun just rising in the east, for today is the dawn of the lightning. Shangtung Mountain rises to the south-west, its great bulk dominating the town’s skyline. As you walk down the pillared street, you reflect on your plans for the day, and are content...
Then you feel something plop down on your shoulder. Reaching over, you find that it is a tiny kitten that looks at you with wide blue eyes. How cute!
A sudden ruckus distracts you from your new companion. A large dog runs down the street towards you, barking raucously, while its owner chases helplessly after it. “Snowflake! No!” the owner shouts. “Heel, boy!” But the dog ignores its owner and charges at you instead, teeth bared.

The chain shreds the pillars; absorbs the thrust of the feline!
Turning to face the dog Epic Sea-Cucumber decides to take evasive action! Keeping the kitten secured high in one hand he withdraws behind a pillar hoping that the dog will be blocked from a clear attack.
When (and if) the dog leaps he quickly uses his other hand to grab the dogs collar and locks its head and jaws against the pillar until the owner can arrive!

(Note: you generally don't need to generate insults in YBA. Only do so if you get into a tournament fight with another character.)
You easily seize the dog by the collar and secure it against a pillar. It barks furiously at you and slaps at you with angry paws. Its master, a small mild-looking fellow, eventually comes up and grasps its leash. "I'm so sorry," he says. "Snowflake never does this sort of thing, really! Come on, Snowflake! Come on girl!!" With some difficulty, he hauls the dog away down the street, with it fighting him every step of the way.
You gain 1 hit defeated.

Epic Sea-Cucumber watches the Dog and its owner struggle away down the street and once they are out of sight he brings the kitten up to look into its blue eyes
"Hello little one" he says gently "where did you come from I wonder perhaps we should see if you have an owner looking for you no?"
He goes back to where he thinks the kitten dropped down and looks up to see what he might see...

"hmmm" the Epic Sea-Cucumber hmms at the mystery of the kittens origin "perhaps you are a blessing sent as a companion for me,. I think I will name you Bluey"
The kitten takes up its position and the Epic Sea-Cucumber grins broadly and continues his way along the pillared street towards the Market square - there must be something happening there...

The kitten seems happy to rest on your head as you walk on down the street to the square. And today seems quite a busy day. In addition to the usual hawkers, vendors, beggars, preachers, musicians, shoppers, and other assorted persons and passersby, a traveling carnival seems to have set up shop at one end of the square. Their colorful wagons bear signs proclaiming numerous marvels, wonders, contests and entertainments. A woman in a grinning blue mask sits at a booth at the entrance to the carnival, beneath a banner announcing that entry to the carnival costs a mere 1 yen.

The Epic Sea Cucmber gazes about the busy market with a contented look upon his face.
"See now Bluey" he speaks to the kitten "this is the vibrant life of a market, a place where adventure waits for any who venture there."
The giant man buys a large ripe melon from one of the hawkers and bites down into the juicy flesh a trickle of clear liquid running down his chins.
He shares courtesies with various others before reaching the blue-mask woman and the carnival
"Honourable Lady" he acknowledges the entertainer "I would like to enter your carnival -" he takes the Yen from his pouch "but tell me do you have Elephants? I like Elephants..."
