[YBA!] Keth the space pirate launches his carreer

Detect I a strong hint of Ender's Game? ;)

"Great, I get to talk like a 3 year old." Keth puts on the mask, opends the hatch, and steps out into the alien ship. He turns to the hatch about to close it. "Oh, and one more thing. Deactivate your humor relays, please? For the sake of the next guy who needs an escape pod. Thanks." Keth closes the door, ready for a few hard weeks in a ship not designed for humans.

You are greeted by a huge mass of bugs. Each individually resembles nothing so much as a cockroach, and the effect isn't pleasant. The ship's interior is slightly foggy, and the dominant color scheme seems to be red and yellow.

The ship's computer begins speaking, in a pleasant tone that contrasts with the setting.

"Greetings, human visitor. I will be the translator between you and the queen while you stay onboard. The queen's name is beyond your capability to speak, so you may refer to her as Queenie. She would like to know your name, and how you could be made more comfortable."

"Okay then. Tell . . . Queenie . . . that my name is Keth. I'd just like normal human accomodation, you can get more information on that from the pod's computer."

"By the by, would this ship happen to be passing by any human-inhabited planets soon? Not to be rude, but I'd like to be back among my own race as soon as possible. Not that there's any problem with yours, of course." Keth grimaces slightly, and lightly pats one of the bug-things on the head.

The I'tik scuttles away from your touch as the computer replies.

"Queenie will have a room prepared for you within 15 of your minutes. Is there anything else you require?"

"Queenie will try to have something palatable to you awaiting your hunger in your room."

15 minutes of picking crawling bugs off yourself ensues before the computer speaks again.

"Your room is ready. Follow the blue lights along the halls to your room."

You do so, and find yourself in a 10x10 space. There is a small, foldout bed here and a table with a large sugar cube on it. It is roughly 7"x7".

"Enjoy your repast. Your room's atmosphere is configured to Earth normal, and should not be problematic for you to breathe."

Keth walks over to the bed, and checks to make sure there are no bugs on it. Tossing the oxygen mask casually onto the floor, he flops down and closes his eyes, glad to get a bit of rest.

After catching an hour or two of sleep, he awakens, takes a few nibbles of the sugar cube, readjusts the mask, and sets about exploring the ship, getting a feel for the layout of it's corridors.
