(YBA) Monderefal in the 100 Kingdoms

(The hound only had 1 hit left, and I'm not giving experience for overkill damage. Feel free to retract the Holy Day, since Monderefal had no real reason to use it at that moment.)

You spot a flash of copper around the neck of a dead orc. This turns out to be a cord strung with pierced copper coins; you'd estimate them to be worth about 3 yen. You could also grab a spear or two, if you were so inclined.

Having apparently decided that you're their new commander, or simply because they're scared to go off without you, the soldiers nervously follow you. Given that things seem to be going poorly for the human army, they'll probably die if you lead them against the orcish army. On the other hand, there's no guarantee that they'll get out alive on their own.

Whatever you do regarding the soldiers, you realize that there's a good chance that you'll continue to encounter orcish troops before you reach the head of the pass, especially given the glow of your divine aura. You can attempt to fight your way through, or you could dampen your aura and slink along the wall of the pass in hopes of avoiding detection. Stealth will be harder if the soldiers accompany you.

What do you do?

You follow the wall of the pass. Numerous crevices and openings pock the wall; undoubtedly the orcs used these to spring their ambush. A couple of openings seem to lead to caves or passages into the stone.

The sounds of combat die down as you progress, giving way to orcish laughter. You pass groups of orcs and human soldiers looting dead bodies; the humans bear the insignia of a red tower on a white field, which you presume to be the badge of Redrock. As you come closer to the head of the pass, you hear the grotesque sound of tearing flesh, and discover a pair of hounds devouring a horse’s entrails while two orcs argue over who will lay claim to a dead knight’s gear.

(Generate a move to see if you can sneak past, unless you want to stop here and fight.)

The hounds look up and growl, the sound oddly muted by the swirling, unnatural smoke. The orcs look in your direction. Fortunately, you and the soldiers are able to duck into a convenient crevice. Seeing nothing, the orcs pull the hounds away and move off in search of more corpses to loot. You lead the soldiers out of the crevice and continue on. More bodies come into view, most of them belonging to the human army. The soldiers stop to grab some additional gear from dead knights; you can easily salvage a sword, dagger, and small shield, though armor would take too much time and effort to obtain. A couple of other stray soldiers also hook up with your group. Their pale, sweaty faces tell you all that you need to know about the progress of the battle.

And then the head of the pass looms before you. The clash of arms grows louder, though not loud enough; the battle seems one-sided, echoing with orcish cries of anger and of glee. You find cover behind a rampart of bodies. Ahead, a tight knot of outnumbered human spearmen protects a handful of officers and knights. Orcs throw themselves against the soldiers in living waves, and each wave drags at least one soldier down. Beyond the fight, the smoke lies especially thick. Dull red light permeates the smoke, flaring at irregular intervals into fiery brilliance.

What do you do?

Monderefal checks if the orcs have a clear group of leaders themselves if so he headfs towards them, if not he moves to aid the humans.

A particularly large and brutish orc seems to lead the orcish troops. He spins a massive, jagged halberd with such ease that it seems to weigh no more than a feather, chopping through armor and human limbs with joyous abandon. A pair of thickset orcs flank the leader, plying barbed whips to drive the lesser orcs on to the attack.

You clamber over bodies to advance on the orcish leaders. Then the smoke parts for a moment, revealing brilliant shafts of sunlight… and a grotesque reptilian head, scaled in green and yellow and black, arching over the combat on a long and sinuous neck. Great leathery wings stir lazily, stirring the smoke into great whorls and spirals. A humanoid figure, wreathed in flame, sits where the neck of the draconian creature meets the body. It hurls a bolt of fire with a gesture. The fire crackles through the air and sets a soldier aflame; the soldier shrieks in agony for only an instant before an orcish spear takes his life. Then the reptile exhales a great cloud of smoke, concealing it and its blazing rider from view.

What do you do?

Monderefal moves to the dragon thing and its rider trying to sneak behind it.
(If I've misinterpreted you and that isn't possible he moves instead to deal with the orcish leader.)
