In order to bypass the orcs around the fringes of the fight, you can either try and sneak past them without being noticed, or run for it and hope to get through before they can react. Either way, generate a move to determine how successful you are.)

"Are you insane?" hisses a soldier as you leap out from cover and past the edge of the fray. You almost stumble as something soft gives way beneath you, but you keep your footing and sprint through a crowd of orcs. Some of them bring weapons to bear in time to slash at you in passing, but you evade every attempt to grab or block you. Having taken a total of 2 hits, you run into a billowing cloud of the thickest smoke you've yet seen. The orcs lose you in the smoke.

The smoke makes your eyes water and leaves you somewhat disoriented. Coughing, you proceed... and a great scaly flank looms before you. A moment later, an enormous reptilian head darts down at you, its fangs clashing like thunder!

"What's going on?" barks a voice querulously, from somewhere up in the smoke.

Shaking its head, the firedrake lunges at you again, only to encounter a sheet of righteous white flame! Shrieking, it whips its head back and forth as the white fire spreads across its body. The beast rolls over, and you have to back away as it thrashes about in its death throes, its body dissolving into ash from the touch of holy fire.

"By the Hells!" A blazing figure floats down through the smoke like a comet. Landing nearby, it reveals itself to be a small man wrapped in a red robe that flickers with dull red flames. The man throws back his fiery hood, revealing thinning white hair and a pair of dark, burning eyes.

"Do you know how hard it is to train one of those things?" he asks rhetorically. "I'm going to take it out of your hide!" Raising his hands, he speaks a word of power. A great burning claw appears in the air before him and flashes towards you.

Correlon's power fills you. With a barrage of swift blows, you send the mage reeling back with 6 hits of damage. Grimacing, he presses a hand to a great bleeding gash in his shoulder.

"You'll pay for that."

Raising his hands, he calls out in a foul and unearthly tongue. Something huge yet unseen descends in a rush. As you stumble back, the invisible force smashes an enormous hole in the floor of the pass!

Flames rush up from the hole. The hot wind blows away much of the smoke, revealing the smoldering bones of the firedrake. Looking past you, the mage shouts, "Get over here, you fools!" You afford a glance over your shoulder. The orcs seem to be in disarray, many of them staring at the burning bones of the drake or milling about in confusion. Then you try to dodge as you hear the whistling sound of that unseen force descending again...

Abraxas (10/16) attacks you: The invisible foot withers the well; protects against the touch of the field!
