"Well sir, not to put too fine a point on it, but these rats brought me here. Not that I know where exactly here is, but that matters not right now. I am Sharlea, may I know your name and purpose here? And if you know, why these rats may have brought me to this place?"

"I am Rettville," says the man, "King of the Rats around these parts. But I was not interested in why you were in my chambers, I wanted to know why you were here in the bosses lair?"

"Why do you think I am here? You had you're rats lure and herd me here, so my coming was no secret to you I believe. If that is the case, then you must have known where I was and what I was doing to some degree. I'm sure your rats have spied out and reported the truth to you already, so lying would be pointless. But if you want to here it from my lips then you shall. So far in Wicht's Lair, I have been hunting and killing goblins and then destroying their animated corpses when those rose up to attack me as well. You have surely heard the double alarm sound when I entered the Lair, and so you must know what I am. A holy warrior come to exterminate the evil which infests this place. I am Sharlea, the Foehammer!

"Now that you know for certain who and what I am, what next?"

ooc: Probably gonna get my @ss killed here, but it should be good for a laugh no matter what. :D

"Well you got spunk," says the man, "i like that, and those goblin zombies were getting to be frightful nieghbors. However, I would appreciate it if you left me area alone - it makes my kids nervous." He indicates the rats.

"If you return to the main tunnel and head north you will enter into orc territory. Their chief is Oggleton. you might be wary of him, but don't worry about taking any guff from his men, you look more than ready to handle your own with all your little 'toys'"

"Well, if I am to stay out of your area, you'll have to tell me exactly what your are encompases. If I may inquire, what is your purpose here in this Lair? Information collector perhaps, via your 'children'? I find it interesting that you seem willing to let me be if I let you be. Are you not here to defend the Lair agianst incursion as well?

"Also, do you know if there is anything else of interest to the west of the room that I entered these tunnels from? Does that passage connect to Orc territory or is it still dead goblin land?"

The man seems pleased with having someone to converse with. Perhaps rats are poor company. However it is impossible for Sharlea to read his face beyond amusement and she has a suspicion he might be an accomplished liar.

"Hehe." he laughs, "I don't 'defend the lair' at all. In fact I could care less about such things though the boss tells me I should. What I do do is control the rats and help collect the garbage. Someone has to do these sorts of things and I have a bit of a talent for it.

"And West of the storage room is my kingdom and from here you can enter just about anypart of the upper lair you like, if you know the way, but I don't advise it. Somethings in the dark are less than pleasant and these tunnels are made for rats, not for people such as you. Not to mention my children get antsy having someone like you crawling through their homes."

"Fine. Once I return through the tunnels I entered here from, I will not venture further west from that storage room...for now. I make no promise that I will never journey there, especially if I need access to some other part of the lair. But for now there is enough to explore that I need not such access.

"I must ask you two more questions, then I shall be on my way. Is there anything besides Orc territory north of the storage room on the first level? And is there access from the Orc territory to any lower levels so that I don't need to trespass through your kingdom?"

"There are not a lot of orcs on the top layer but there are stairs leading down to their main hive. Of course now that the goblins are gone and their zombies mostly destroyed they may eventually spread out."

"Feel free to stop and chat anytime you want - I don't get much company." He chuckles. "My brother used to help out but he got himself into some trouble and well, it gets a bit tiresome with only rats. Though of course my best friends are all rats." He winks goodnaturedly and indicates the tunnel to the left of his throne. "One of my kids will show you the way."

A large rat, at least two feet long, not counting tail, heads out from one of the other tunnels and trots slowly down the tunnel Rettville indicates. He looks back, very much like a dog to see if the young woman is following him.

Smiling, Sharlea says, "I don't think the Orcs will be spreading out anywhere very much. We shall see though. Goodbye for now, Rat King."

With that, Sharlea turns to follow the large rat down the small tunnels while thinking to herself, 'What a strange man!'.

The rat leads Sharlea through the fairly short tunnel and out into a larger room than the one they just left. It is clear that rats, very large ones, likely make their home here. It is currently empty.

The rat then leads Sharlea through a human sized tunnel, one that twists sharply to the right before coming out into another room, this one empty. There is a tunnel across from the one Sharlea comes out and the rat trots over to it and waits at the side of the tunnel. Its furry face looks at her as if wondering whether she is smart enough to go through the tunnel on her own. The tunnel is good sized at least five feet wide and six feet tall.
