Ye old Birthright

Necronomicus

First Post
Yeah, I saw that Birthright.net is now back up. I'm going to be looking at it again when I have a chance, though I don't like the 4E stuff as I mentioned earlier.
Well, it seems Birthright.net went down.

As for the link, unfortunately I haven't seen the forum for WotC for a while.

I obtained all the box sets years ago, giving me the source material for Anuire, Brechtur, the Rjurik, the Khinasi, and the Vos. It is a surprisingly detailed setting, giving you political info for every kingdom on the map, as well as who controls the local religions, trade, and law / banditry. I run my 4th edition game in that world using the NPC info. I use the base development score to decide how likely monsters are to be encountered. I have never really used the nation ruling rules though.

The setting is not too hard to adapt to 3rd or even 4th edition. You can probably crib from the Eberron dragon marks to decide how to run the bloodlines.

Hmm interesting; I would be interested in a Brithright setting, it seems one of the more Medieval/less-DND like fantasy setting.

And the domain rules are very interesting, I've never played or ran them though.

Birthright was one of my favorite settings. There was also a Birthright video game released by Sierra that did a decent job approximating the domain rules that you could even do adventures in. It was surprisingly complete.
