I cast protection from editorsEditors?
I do it and I’m pretty sure I’m not aping the NYT. It’s not even a publication I’m particularly familiar with other than having heard the name before. When you see it with news outlet headlines, they are 100% aping the New York Times.
I have had a real hard time unlearning the two spaces.I still put two spaces after periods and colons, so who am I to complain about title case?
Eh, I don't even bother. Folks who stress out about that level of grammar (typography? etiquette?) need to re-evaluate their priorities.I have had a real hard time unlearning the two spaces.
as long as i can read something i don't sweat it. I mean just look at how i type here.I still put two spaces after periods and colons, so who am I to complain about title case?
Well you absolutely should fear a post truth world. That’s how the oppressive regime gets to power in the first place and how they stay in power. What is the point of your dissent if nobody believes its real and nobody believes the suppression of your dissent is real?I don't fear a post-truth world, I fear surveillance so intrusive that it makes the social credit system look like a liberal paradise in comparison. I'm not afraid of truth dying out, I'm more afraid of people right now dying out for telling the truth and in the future for daring to seek the truth. The regulation you so much want will be the Trojan horse for mass surveillance and control. With it, nobody will ever be able to feel dissent again -yes not even voicing dissent, feeling it-. I might be paranoid, but not so much given what is happening around me that is beyond the boundaries of these forums.
Not that I don't worry about the dangers of social media, but in the grand scheme of the things it is a first-world problem.
I think they hope they can get off as easy as change nothing and add warning label. So, it looks past time for social media to come with warning labels about its content.
Maybe a nice dialog, every time the page loads or content refreshes?
When did the 2 spaces change?I have had a real hard time unlearning the two spaces.
