Yogsathoth and history: Leopold, here it is (Shadow)

Sidran, we have now come to the fun part of the Yogsathoth story...that is creating the countless minions of his. As I can see, you are quite capable of this and I urge you to bring forth more as all will be accepted. Later on we can then place them all in a hierarchy. I do not wish to hold back your monsters infact...I wish to add them so long as they are fiends. You see, along with Yogsathoth, many of his minions we also forgotten. Infact, truth is...massive armies of fiends had been forgotten! Every new fiend you make will be accepted as one of those forgotten powerful fiends. Now, into the reply. Jaalek. I will now talk of Jaalek, the mercilous and fearless champion of Yogsathoth. A desription of Jaalek could be thus: " The large two-headed, four-armed monstrosity bellowed out in rage, swinging the dread swords of infernalum. He launched himself into battle, in between thousands of men, swing his swords, slashing and belching forth fire. Fearlessly he wages a one fiend war, tearing through the sea of armed men as easy as scissors through paper. He charges forward on hooved feet and smashes head first into a group of mortals, impaling them on his horns. His lower arms grasp out and grab others, yanking out limbs and crushing skulls with sheer strength. As for those who wait in the distance...they are met with a storm of fire." In the beginning, Jaalek was little more than an incredibly strong brutish fiend. He fought and invoked fear in others but Yogsathoth watched him and had ideas for Jaalek and so he took Jaalek into his company and taught him. In time, Jaalek became more intelligent and thus became a intelligent fighter, a deadly warrior. As Jaalek improved his fighting prowress he found that his true love was in melee...and his favoured weapon was the great sword. He grew in swordsmanship and became quite the fearful swordsman. Jaaleks loyalty to Yogsathoth is unlike any others as Jaalek knew Yogsathoth since he was spawned. He revers Yogsathoth as his father though it is not so. As time passed and Jaalek became more intelligent, Yogsathoth taught Jaalek the dark arts of magic, thus equiping Jaalek with an arsenal of magic attacks. In the end, Yogsathoth made Jaalek a grand general of his armies. Jaalek bowed before Yogsathoth and accepted his title as champion warrior. Personally, Jaalek truly respects Yogsathoth and infact wishes to enter godhood and become as his master. It is rumored that Jaalek is somewhat of a demi-god but that is only rumor as Jaalek is also all but forgotten. The fearless warrior, the mercilous, champion of Yogsathoth. Now, that there was just a little intro thing to Jaalek. I am open to suggestions for it so it all fits together. Now, back to the idea of fiend making...here is an idea. Think up all the cool fiend ideas you have and list them...name and one sentence about them ok? Then we can go through each and dish out some history. Ok, Ill strat off the list:
Azathoth - Yogsathoths youngest brother
Azagthoth - Yogsathoths middle brother
Guta - The personal mercinary of Jaalek
The Shadow Guards - The two fiend guards of Jaalek
Leon Theodin - Half-fiend/human whom is the true father of Draako (I have the complete story for this guy...its good)
Seraphmine - The forgotten brother of Belial
Shubniggurath - The leader of the Shadow messengers
The kindred - The seemingly infinite kindred, the flesh eating cloaked Agilama
So...I keep on thinking...now, its your turn. Suggestions, monsters, ideas...Im all ears.

Ok, Im back again with a few new changes to some of the connections between Yogsathoth and some of the other fiends. I also have a few new beings to put on the list. Ok, Azagthoth and Azathoth are NOT Yogsathoths brothers. I have changed this and instead they are his children. Ok, that out of the way, I have begun working down the chains of command and digging up all of my ideas for fiendish lords over the past four to five years. I have also begun a preliminary hierarchy though I will not reveal it yet until alot more fiends are listed. Remember, for now, work down the chain of command ok? All the really powerful fiends need to be brought up and when we begin to have no fiends left to incorporate...well, then those other fiends are the nobodys. Ok, to the list!
Maartuku - Azathoths watcher
Azaraludu - The Lord of The Kindred
Azarvalim - One of Azagthoths pupils; The Sage of Chaos
Agaku - The other pupil of Azagthoth; The Sage of Death. Agaku has a secret plan with Yogsathoth concerning Skaukater
The Seven Anuuk'il - They are the guards of the seven gates of Numer.
Ok, ideas? New fiends to add into the hierarchy? Suggestions? Im all ears! Lets do this!

Ok, I am working on complete stats for Yogsathoth in all of his glory and I need some information which I unfortunately do not have access to. In the Deities and Demi-gods book, there are some new feats and perhaps some new skills for Deities...I desperately need some of these that would pertain to Yogsathoth (I need about 87 feats and about 12 more skills). I know there probably arent that many new feats and such...so, be creative. I cannot think up all 87 feats by myself. So far, Yogsathoth is about 20% completed (I am taking the time to redo him just for Daemonforge). Also, any suggestions about Yogsathoth such as Special attacks and qualities that you think may befit him...Im all ears. Come on, I need everyones help here. Oh, and I guess for a little sneak preview of him I could give you some info:

Spheres of Annihilation(Su) - Yogsathoth can create Spheres of Annihilation to hurl at his enemies.

That is the strongest power of his to date. Anyways, I need all your help.

P.S Sidran, if you havent already, read the above two posts while you are here...thanks.

Fenyaronde, Amrana, Sethra, and Aqaab-ab Saras are all fiendish gods under his domain so in technical terms they are minions as well.

Remember start using the term Numer when ever you must refer to things such as hell.

Fenyaronde is a warped and twisted elemental lord of ice exiled to Numer after he attempted to start a world encompassing ice age during the Bygone era. Over the last million years he has slowly become one of the strongest of the Four lesser members of the Dark Pantheon, with only Amrana to contend with as the First hand of the Dark King.

Fenyaronde appears as a large lanky Sidhe with bluish skin, and icy eyes. He is a foul god of cold, death, despair, and trickery. He is worshiped or was worshipped by evil barbarians, fighters, rangers, and druids. Now his name is forgotten from the lips of the World above like his master he is a dark threat waiting in anticipation for the Gates of Numer to open so that he might lead his Ice wraiths, and trolls into the world above. His favored weapon is a Greatsword known as Warmthbane. Drd 15 Brbn 10 Rgr 10

Amrana Known as the Drowning Queen, Or as the Rapturess of the Deep. Amrana takes on many guises but she frequently appears as a Great and Ominous kraken with a Sidhe torso and head, or as a mermaid of unsurpassing beauty. Once a creature of good much like the creature Ys, Amrana was corrupted by the Dark King during the first fiend wars and fell from her place in heaven to be Yogsathoths mistress. She is a foul goddess capable of great evils. She is known to be the creator of the Kraken, and the Aboleth, as well as the fiendish Storm Riders, and Ratlings.

She is the mother of the Queen of the Ratling Race and The Burning God. She has begotten in total seven of the Dark kings get. Her portfolio includes; Water, Darkness, Slaughter, and Fertility. She was worshipped mostly by evil druids, necromancers, demons, rangers, barbarians, fighters, rogues, and bards. It is said in ancient tales from the Coast of Weymanos, and the Burning lands that Amrana is so fair that if ever a mortal man layed eyes on her he would die within one breath. Her favored weapon is the trident known as Sailorbane.

Sethra The Queen of Sins

The third most powerful member of the dark pantheon Sethra is a sceming she devil who finds slaughter erotic. She is the Great Seductress the First lady of seduction and carnal sins. She rules the urban layer of Numer as a Brothels mistress would rule her girls. Appearing as either a Golden haired nymph with pitch black eyes, or as a Marilith. Sethra, and Amrana are rivals for the bed of the Dark king, and have been in an informal war for the last few millinia.

She has bore the Dark King three sons, Farindul, Azagthoth, and Azathoth. She was worshiped by evil bards, rogues, seductresses, whores, lovers, and druids. Her portfolio includes Fertility, Love, Darkness, and Slaughter. Her favored weapon is a dagger known as Heartkiller. Brd 15 Rog 10 Expert (Seductress) 15

Aqaab-ab Saras Evil as his master is evil Aqaab-ab Saras, the Dark Djinn, or the Father of Wishes still can be found on steles in cathedrals on the Isle of Weymanos in the Utalian sea menacing the faitful. He is a dark master of the elementals known as Djinn, and he has always taken the likeness of a great sand dragon. Though his name has been forgotten in the sands of time his horendous acts will never fall to far from the minds of the elves.

He has a burning hatred for Fenyaronde, and has tried to assassinate the Ice lord on a number of occasions. He was once worshipped by evil rangers, fighters, barbarians, bards, and Rogues. His favored weapons are two twin scimitars that he calls the two fates of man. Ftr 20 Rgr 10 Rog 10

Great. Keep them coming as we need as many as possible for it is said that armies of fiend lords had been forgotten beyond the gates of numer. Now, I have a couple to add to the list...one of which needs explaining (also, I shall be creating their template today and I shall post it on your monsters thread). The first is the Sahgurim. They are the remenants of those whom betrayed there lord. Yogsathoth does not take kindly to those of his ranks that rebel against him...thus, nothing but the worst can be there punishment. They are thus granted and immortal life filled with terror, pain, and suffering so harsh that it drives the being forever insane (as by the spell insanity). Thus, in the end they become the lost...the Sahgurim. They are not really strong and do not do much more than beg forgiveness, screaming at unseen things, howling with pain, or weeping with despair. Now, the being that does the torturing, that drives the Sahgurim to the brink is known as Guul'dagor, master of pains. Guul'dagor takes great pride in his work and loves to hear others scream out in pain...begging forgiveness and for mercy. He chuckles at them and continues. Guul'dagor works under the power of Azarvalim; the Sage of Chaos. His favourite saying thus proves somewhat what he is like: "You will wish you were dead by the time I am through with you! ". Lastly, is a being that was spawned by the works of both Agaku and Yogsathoth...through dark magics another was born of terrible power, Corpeus ragor. Ok, now, Im going to go back to my work on more fiendish minions...and the template for Sahgurims. I am also getting a good picture of the hierarchy now. Im all ears...keep them coming!

Interesting picture, Sidran...well done. Was it done on computer? It seems like it was and well...I dont have the software for that...I do mine by hand with nothing but pencil and pen. Cool though. I wonder though...what is it? Is it something or is it rather just an image from your mind...an idea without a name (trust me, Ive had alot of those before). Anyways, Ive saved it to my computerl. Now, into the post. Back to the list:
Eyridan - The fiends that follow the ideas of Guul'dagor. The Eyridan are split in two groups...one know as the Childer of Guul'dagor and the ohers are known as the Septiem. Guta, the mercenary of Jaalek, is a Eyridan Septiem.
Aukiln - Three eyed dog fiends.
Nas'bashu - Gigantic legendary fiend...often in tales dealing with the end of the world. The Nas'bashu is a fiend supposedly taller than most dragons, that had feet that could crush fortresses, and that could walk through the oceans. There is no real proof of such a being though there was an item found mentioning something about Nas'bashu in its ancient runes. The item is known as the Book of Vin.
Ramiel - Ramiel is a fallen celestial whom has been twisted and corrupted by the powers of the dark lord. Now, he serves as a corrupter (Shadow messanger) and and enforcer of the corrupted. He is the brother of the celestial hunter and thus is the main reason for the celestial hunters quest.
Sidraan - Sidraan is the second in command next to Jaalek.
Ok, so there are a few more new ones to add to the heirarchy. Also, I think the idea of Nas'bashu needs to be dicussed before any more happens with him as I am not sure whether to have him be real or not. Besides that, please, I need as many of these fiends as can be got...weak or strong. I am creating a heirarchy for numers fiends. Also, I need to know...in Daemonforge...are all there devils, demons, and daemons? If so, did they all come from the same place or did they all come from different planes. That'll answer a few other questions I have so that this heirarchy can be quite correct when finished. Ok, ideas, suggestions, answers...Im all ears!

As for the pic it was Daemonforge Inspired actually and is a daemon looking on to one of the Gates of Numer. It was computer done with the MGI Photosuite III program and well I am not all that great an artist but I have done a few.

As for using the Name Sidraan I would prefer it be something else not to be snippity or anything its just well I created the sig name Archmage Sidran when I first started writing for the DF setting as a psuedoname for me in that setting (I have even had a few failed attempts at written literature with a Magus by that name in the Daemonforge) Though right as of now my "Merlin" like wizard for this world is an elderly spelljack wizard named Syg'aern who is rumoured to be as old as but not limited to being 800 yrs in age.

As far as how many minions that Yogsathoth has unless we want to produce an after market Sourcebook for the Lands beneath (Which would be neat) We really only need Yogsathoth in stats and in fluff, Draako, the Staff, the stones, and the Celestial Hunter. Also the written article about Numer and its denziens could include a few of the minions of the Dark king but we do not need an exhaustive index of who is who in the Numerian underworld. So I say visualize the very best of his henchmen and let the rest be designed and created by the DM's who use your written work. I do think that working on Monsters is important, I think that working on feats, and spells is also important and I think that this Setting is missing a few of its much needed Prestige Classes such as a Hunter of Fiends, also for my Utali works I still need to write up the Drake riders.

And where on earth is Leopold or Imperialus or Greyone or any of the others why can't every one regiment their time to working at least a little bit on the Setting each day, or week. It is a rant of mine that this setting which I love a ton is not going anywhere do to lethargy on the part of its creative team.

G'baal what we need to do is get a written piece of work out so that Imp, Leopold, Greyone, BM, and anyone else who still is a lurking contributer here can read it and give an opinion of the work that has been done.

ALSO everyone should ask themselves if there was one thing about the DF setting that they would change what would that be. Me I would get rid of the dying gods, instead having Gods that our working to save the fates of men but are not able to for some reason and I would add a Prestige class "Cleric" that is led by their will. Also I would change the opinion that all the worlds races are mixed, and that they have no cultural or racial traditions left or no cultural taboos, or small gods. It makes me upset to have a small god of mine be questioned due to the nature of the Setting. I prefer a world with more than just these Patrons or those Fiend lords and thats it.

Sorry for getting so off topic but I just haven't been fealing well lately and I am frustrated at the lethargy in general given to this setting by its founders.

Oops, sorry there Sidran. I totally did not think of that. The name of Sidraan shall be changed soon enough. I totally did not see that and I hope you are not really angry about that as it was an honest mistake. Beyond that, into your reply, into the part about the denizens of numer...I understand that we should probably let some others help out in this to...but as you can see and say, there are few that constantly contribute thus leaving alot of that work to the few more devoted people. I would really like a large list of beings for numer as I think it would be interesting to have such. I understand where you are coming from but I dont want to just do a fluff job on this. It would be much easier If others would pitch in now and then though and thus perhaps is the answer. Personally, I think this concept has possibility, thanks to you mostly. We need the input of others also and it is so annoying that few pitch in...they view the stuff but leave after reading it...leaving it all for one or two people to work on. I absolutely understand and agree with your ranting. I have read reviews elswhere on the net about Daemonforge and it seems that apparently it is now going down hill in ratings. I dont really care though as I am quite devoted to helping it along. Now, as to a piece of work...tell me what we need exactly and I will take the time to prepare it...I got time. Also, to the stats of Yogsathoth...I hope to have him completed such as a playable monster, so that you can read all of his stats...attacks, ablilties, spells...everything. I am thinking of creating another thread Just for building him (as I HOPE that someone will give ideas and suggestions on his creation). You see, I have left the idea of Yogsathoth, his minions, the histroy, the staff, Draako, and all esle doing with the story of Yogsathoth wide open for discussion yet none have really contributed save for you. Anyways, from that, sorry for following in your rant but I agree with you. So, I am still going to think up denizens of numer, particularily high-level beings (and some low level beat'em ups). Alll in all, I hope to continue what is happening here so far as I got alot of sutff going on. Tell me what we need in this written piece of work and I'll take the time to get it done and hey, perhaps creating a book of denizens in numer wouldnt be a bad idea after all. Anyways, any ideas or suggestions? Im all ears (as you can tell).
