I would choose a bag of devouring. Start my own sanitation business, I'd haul away your junk for a nominal fee and just shovel it into the bag. None of the dangers inherent with a SoA and I help the environment too. :)

Might I remind people that the Ring of Regeneration wouldn't help you against diseases... especially venereal ones ! :]

A Helm of Telepathy is quite cheap at 27k gold... and you get detect thoughts at will, send telepathic messages and 1 suggestion a day... naughty naughty !

For Real World usefullness, hands down it would be a Mirror of Mental Prowess. Without question.

Clairvoyance, teleportation (w/return), information.

Wow. I never would have considered that, but I can definitely see the appeal now!

My first impulse though would be to reply ring of multiple wishes. Not the wimpy 3e version that has only 3 wishes to help standardize prices, but the old school ring maxed out at 8 wishes. :] Of course, I could cheat, always blow a wish here or there on great magic items like the mirror, Bucknard's everful purse, ring of regenration, and maybe even more rings of multiple wishes.

Hate to break it to ya, guys, but many of the items you've listed here would immediately draw attention, and you'd probably lose them within a week to the government or organized crime.

I'm still trying to decide, but something I can use inconspicuously.

A monk's belt (unarmed dmg 1d8, choice of doing lethal dmg, AC +WisMod+1) would be handy to destroy school bullies.

Uh, not for me. With my Wisdom modifier of -3 and Str penalty, it would be all but useless.

I'll go for the Tome of Leadership and Influence +5.

Agreed. Fear of losing the item was a big factor in my decision to take the Eye of Vecna.
