I'll go with the bizarre option here: WH40K. But I'd want to grow on a Pleasure World near Ultramar. Nice setting, plot immunity... and since there is opportunity to choose a path, I'd be a curator for the Adeptus Administratum, minimizing risks of ever encountering the setting grimdark element, being high ranking enough to have a nice life and the thrill of following the news about distant wars won by the Imperium of Man.

When I'm tempted, I just think of how many times I had to reload in the typical game. Plus, it's a lot more painful when it's not just a health bar that's being depleted.
