By the rules, no.

Sorry, gotta agree with Artoomis on this one. There is nothing in the rules that would prevent this concept. You do, however, have to be enlarged at the time you level up (potentially difficult depending on how leveling up works in your campaign), and be using the Complete Warrior PrC rules. It's far from optimal, but would probably be a lot of fun.

It depends on how one gains a PrC.

To me, all leveling is done "over night" after a good rest. It does not occur the instant XP is acquired. So, it is difficult to be enlarged for that entire 8 hour rest period.

But, there is also designer intent to consider. "Must be Large or larger" implies a race that is large (or larger) to begin with, not a race that uses a spell or spell like ability to temporarily gain that state.

Personally, I dislike the concept of allowing temporary abilities, spells, or magic items to be used as prerequisites for feats or PrCs. The rules do not explicitly disallow it, but it just seems like taking advantage of the system to me.

I don't think I have ever agreed with you more, KD. You are like a brother to me now! :D

I agree. I think it inadvisable to allow it. Nonetheless, I think it's legal, but presents many obstacles to actually use such a concept in play.

After all, when does the gain experience? Only when Large?

Do you need to keep two character sheets? One for when Large, one for when Medium?

Do you lose all class abilities when not Large?

My preference (but not the "rules") is to disallow any temporary benefits of any sort for class qualifications when leveling up.

Even that may have some exceptions, though. For example, if you need to be large, what if an item made you Large all the time? That's temporary in the sense that you are not Large when you take off the item.

Obivously, this is a DM call for each situation.

We have always been brothers. And like all brothers, it just took getting over those sibling rivalry years to realize it. :D

Since the Duerger can Enlarge themselves once per day, could they take levels of War Hulk (prereq. of "Must be Large or larger") which only come into effect when the character is Enlarged (and therefore meets the prereq.)? If you combined it with some levels of barbarian, you'd have a good Incredible Hulk homage!
As much as I like the idea...no. A duergar isn't Large. It's Medium. I wouldn't it to work for the same reason I wouldn't allow divine power or Tenser's transformation to overcome the BAB prerequisite of a PrC.

If the requirement was "Large size or the ability to become Large", I'd absolutely say yes.

The main exception for some DMs is the ability score prerequisites for Epic feats. It is very difficult to gain many of those feats unless magical ability score boost items are allowed to be used.

That may or may not be the "main" exception, but it certainly is an important one.
