Aimed at family tabletop gaming, Young Wizards represents the perfect "bridge" for families wishing to approach the tabletop role-playing game (RPG) experience, but without the heavy lifting of rulebook tomes, complex character sheets & massive time commitments for adventure design.
Kids who have played a few games understand the simple mechanics of drawing & playing cards - and Young Wizards delivers with a simple iconography, card-based approach to a tabletop RPG.
The game can also be played without the typical game-master (GM). So, setup time can be minimized for parents who are perhaps new to the genre and/or too busy to hand-craft every adventure!
One of the main design goals was to not only hit upon the points above, but to also make the game deep enough for tabletop RPG veterans. Young Wizards delivers with a simple-but-deep wizard deck construction system with many combos and strategies built right in. So, young and "old" can enjoy the rich experience as they adventure together over the span of many weeks, months or years!
