Your D&D Pedigree

1980 - Blue Box D&D (chits, no dice, Keep on the Borderlands)
AD&D 1st Ed

AD&D 2nd Ed: Skills & Powers
D&D 3.0

Still don't own core 3.5 books, but i use 3other 3.5 books (libris mortis, complete arcane, PHB II etc).

Scattered in there early on: (AD&D 1st edition era): Traveller (1st edition) Champions/herosystem or whatever it was originally called, V&V, Gamma World, Top Secret, Aftermath, Twilight 2000, Star Frontiers, Merp, Rolemaster.
Always came back to D&D.

1985 - AD&D
- Dragonlance
- Forgotten Realms
(somewhere in there it switched to 2e...we didn't really notice)
1999 or 2000 - Tested and transitioned to 3e
2002 or 2003 - transitioned to 3.5e

I'm leaving out a lot of battletech, star wars, shadowrun, ICE, warhammer, palladium/stormbringer, and probably a lot of things that I've forgotten.

Oh and for a couple of years I helped my friend Thomas play and work on his own sci-fi fantasy RPG 'Star Lords'...it ruled.

1989 - 1990 - Red Box (Mentzer) D&D and Expert
1988 - 1994/95 - AD&D 1
1990 - 1998 - AD&D 2
2000 - 2007 - D&D 3.X

As you can see, I didn't have "clean changes" from one edition to another but more often switched back and forth. These are just approximate years ignoring the occasional game here and there.

For a rough listing of the stuff I played or GMed, here's a list I've made a few days ago. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some stuff, but here you go.

It ignores titles I own but did not play/run.

Titles in bold have been played and GMed, while the titles appearing in normal characters are the games I played and did not run myself. I added a rough opinion about each of these experiences (this isn't an opinion about the design of the game but rather an appreciation of the particular experience(s) I had with a given game): (+) means a positive opinion (=) was both good and bad or just average, and (-) displeased me somehow.

Also, the list includes various editions of games when this is relevant, but ignores settings in general (like Greyhawk or FR for AD&D, for instance, or Ptolus and Ravenloft for D&D3, or Glorantha and Lankhmar for MRQ, let's say), unless the rules were so different as to constitute a different role-playing game (Arcana Evolved compared to D&D 3.X, for instance).
