Your Fave 1st Level Campaign Kicker Offer Modules

I have been running a few one shot demos of a C&C/NEXT hybrid system inbetween our normal OD&D sessions. The player response has been very positive to the oneshots,.and now the general concensus is to start up a full blown campaign using characters that are the great grand relations of the OD&D PCs.

So I am looking through a pile of my own 1st level stuff from all editions, but what are some of your faves? Edition does not matter. I will convert as need be. Most likely I will be running a modded to taste Golarion or Pre Wars GH.

I really like 2E's The Accursed Tower despite the author being R A Salvatore. It's a nice little wilderness plus dungeon adventure and there's a definite logic to why the dungeon exists.

I've use Keep on the Borderlands/Return to the Keep on the Borderlands, Village of Hommlett, Three Days to Kill, and The Sunless Citadel to good effect.

If you like the Keep theme, but it's too familiar, the Hackmaster variant -- "Little Keep on the Borderland" -- might work.

Thanks for the feedback! I have all but the FR module and the Kenzer mod. Will look into those too.

No-one else has fave starter mods? I am surprised. I figured everyone would love to recall their favorites. I meant this as discussion for everyone to enjoy, along with my personwl need for inquiry.

I have heard good things about the Darkmoon Vale 3.5 modules from Paizo recently..?

Another vote for Hommlet...change the names if you want, but you really can't beat the village and all of its NPCs/interaction potential as a jumping off point for 1st level characters..

EDIT: Though Secret of Saltmarsh holds a close second to my eyes. Another nice, starting off village (though requires a bit more detail-filling by you than Hommlet) with a nice Haunted House scenario (and further smugglers, lizardmen and sahuagin to deal with if you want to follow the further modules into a larger plot line).

And Cult of the Reptile God is a great one, too.

My favourites are N1: Against the Cult of the Reptile God and U1: Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh. For a good experience, though, you should add an interesting town to U1.

I started D&D after 2nd, so my faves are all 3e-present.

Sunless Citadel
Mad God's Key by Jason Bulmahn (Dungeon 114)
The Slaying Stone by Logan Bonner

Homlett and Saltmarsh are always vying for the #1 spot when I start up a new campaign. Saltmarsh in particular (sucker for the Haunted House type scenario). I even used the 4E Homlett mod in a 4E Nentir Vale campaign, and as a nod to Gary, renamed it the Hamlet of Vil! :)

For low level, I've got a few things from Paizo I have not run yet (Hollows Last Hope, BB Bash demos) Thieves in the Forest, B1,2,3,4,5, T1, U1, The Sunless Citadel, Keep on the Shadowfell, 4E essentials adventures in the DM Kit, A couple of 4E DCCs, Crucible of Freya, Mini location adventures in the Xendrik book, and a C&C module (Dark Journey, very cool and very B1-ish, but without all the work).

Or I could throw caution to the wind, print out my old original Wilderlands of High Fantasy pdf and go total sandbox.

And of course taking suggestions/ideas from the members here :)

I'm fond of Cult of the Reptile God, but U1 is good too (3E's DMG2 has the town of Saltmarsh in it).

I've also heard good things about L1 - Secret of Bone Hill.
