Your favorite race?

Usually elves are hated because all those fan-boys want to have Tolkien-uber-elves (you know: +2 or more to all ability scores, spell resistance, immunity to a lot of stuff, immortal, and all that) and because elves can get away with using "tactics" (read: being underhanded) without being labelled cowards. And, there's grey/sun/gold-elves who are considered extremely racist.
Well, it's more of a flavor issue than a statistical issue for me. Dragonlance elves are alright, but FR/generic D&D elves I generally tend to dislike on sight. It's nothing that I can't (and haven't) solved as a DM.

way back in 1E/2E days, I played pretty much every race and class available. I found I preferred humans simply because they weren't limited in levels, and because they made great rangers (my favorite class). After reading the 3E books, I wanted to play a neutral gnoll ranger... that just sounded like something really neat. Alas, no gaming group anymore....

My race choice

I personally have always been partial to Half Elves...usually Human/Wild Elf combo or Human/Wood Elf combo. I think it's because I am half Latino and half Caucasian. I had trouble fitting into either culture growing up so I guess I can sympathize with Half Elves.

Other then that I like most any race...just not very good at doing the Dwarf thing. Not that I don't like them...just I actually never played one before now that I think about it. Hmmm...maybe I should sometime.
