Your favourite D20 publisher and why

Well it's nice to see some of the S&SS crew and it's affiliates/under banner publishers are getting high praise (as well they should! )

I would like to add, that while I do try to be discriminating, many of my favorite d20 publishers are mentioned here AND are on this board. So to you guys muchu graics(sp) and keep up the good work!

Green Ronin takes top honours for me. Book of the Righteous is simply the best theology book for role-playing I have yet seen, and Freeport is the standout city book at present.

I agree. I'd also like to give it up for Hammer & Helm, an awesome book and the best dwarf sourcebook by far, and the Shaman's Handbook, for offering up a new core class I would actually allow in my campaign.

As for why I like Green Ronin, I can sum that up in one word: quality. Even their worst book is better than 90% of the d20 stuff on the market.

I am simply dying for Mutants & Masterminds to come out.

Troll Lord Games- Their editing and layout isn't the best but with each product they do it gets better. I really like their stuff. Necromancer Games- for they 1st edition feel adventures.
Green Ronin Publishing
Mongoose
Fiery Dragon

In a similar thread several months ago, infact it might have been well over a year ago even when Eric still ran the boards; I don't remember, the thread asked which publisher did you think was the best. I replied Necromancer Games which is also my favorite publisher out there.

I like their dedication to the "1st Edition Feel" and having a Demon Lord as their symbol, logo, "patron" is just plain cool.

Keep up the great work Orcus and company!

Green Ronin is not far behind. I'm looking forward to the 3rd Vol. in the Fiends series.

And I have quite a few Mongoose books too. Oh, Mongoose guys I have a request: more Plane books please. And I'm eageraly awaiting the Quint. Psionic books.

And let me say the Bad Axe Games has impressed me a lot. I only have the Dwarf book but I like what I've seen of the half-orc book and will be getting that soon.

Thank you

Being one of the writers of Bluffside, and somewhat connected to MEG now, I would like ot extend a thank you to those who have made positive comments about MEG/THG and Bluffside. It is truly a city to be experienced first hand.

Stay tuned for more stuff for Bluffside in the near future. And thank you again for the comments.

Yeah. I just got H&H and am VERY impressed by it. I cant wait to see the rest of the Races of Renown series....I'd love to see an Elf book especially.

Mongoose Publishing. I think their Slayers Guides and Encylopedias Arcane are inspired. Just the sort of thing that helps me utilize a race (SGs) or add a varient caster (EAs). Not had enough money to try their other lines, but would to look at their Sea and City books.

Who I like (top 5):

1) Necromancer Games (1e feel)
2) AEG (Rokugan stuff)
3) Green Ronin (Freeport, Armies of Abyss et al, etc)
4) Fiery Dragon (their adventures - any more?)
5) - (no one yet deserves this position, but Privateer Press could be here).

Honorable Mention:
- Malhavoc Press. BoEM, Demon God's Fane, and Banewarrens were good, but BoEM2 was pretty weak, and I have no interest in the "event" books (except maybe that "war" one - mass combat system anyone? Have to compare that to Mongoose's).

- WotC (but usually are too, as another poster put it, hit'n'miss).

Favorite Publisher

Privateer Press.
Their books are top-notch. Edited well, a deisngers dream. Their world is unique (even if you don't like or use the steampunk idea) and well done. And they take their time which obviously shows in the quality of all of their books. Nothing appears to be sloppy.

Big time Honorable Mention:
Atlas (Penumbra)
Another one who wins on attention to detail, as well as product depth and design. Occult Lore was a phenomenal book and En Route and Seven Strongholds were fabulous sources for time taxed DMs.
