A few years ago, I wouldn't have been able to give you a straight answer. But since I've discovered (get it? ;)) Terry Pratchett, there's no doubt about what I like best.

It is a toss up for me between The Spellsinger series by Alan Dean Foster, The Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust, and the Elric series by Moorcock. I greatly enjoyed each of these for slightly different reasons.
