Your FR Campaigns

My level 9 party is currently exploring Undermountain, looking for an artifact called the Eye of the Storm that can control the weather on a large scale. They're trying to get to it before the Shadovar can. Recently, they defended the town of Nesme from a frost giant clan and cleared out an undead-filled temple in the High Forest.

The makeup of the party is as follows...

Jerrith Darkson, male tiefling fighter
Tari Sirfalas, female moon elf ranger
Athos Tienerman, male human cleric of Lathander
Talas, male human sorcerer/arcane devotee of Mystra
Thorik Minedriver, male shield dwarf rogue/fighter
Valas Filifar, male drow bard/fighter

Our party is currently in Cormyr, well, actually in a large goblin city in an extra-dimensional cavern or somesuch, or rather we are back there now after recovering from a little setback (with three PCs dead). Trying to find a huge dragon hoard to finance the war against the goblins.

Since this is a published adventure (one of the first, if not the first D&D3e adventure), I won't tell too much in case it would spoil anyone elses fun. :)

Party setup:

Human Barbarian/Ranger/Fighter/Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple 9th
Human Cleric of Tymora 9th (new character, was Mystic Theurge before)
Human Bard 9th
Centaur Fighter 9th
Halfling Paladin of Tyr 10th
Human Sorceress/Incantatrix 10th (moi)

A swift moving invading army (from another plane) composed of 6-10 HD undead * and all of the evil humanoid races has conquered Tethyr and is swiftly beating back the local amn/tethyr army. In just 3 months time they are partly into amn and calimshim and a strike team of high HD skeletons is nearing the mountains of the lake of steam. The invaders are +8 LA humanoids who are masters of planar travel. They are stranded on Torril ** and needed to annex Tethyr because it is the perfect spot to create a permanent gate to their home plane. Once opened, their god-king CR 30ish + divine levels will come through to torril and assuming the plan sticks, kill off Lathandar. (The gates are sun powered, I guess.) Until that happens, the invaders need native clerics to gain access to divine magic. Did I mention the twelve old or ancient dragons they are controlling with an artifact in order to move troops long distances quickly?

Our 14th level party of 6 is based in Scornubel and have been running around the realms looking for the armor of heron (found the sword of heron last game arc near the lake of steam). These items are rumored to be able to defeat the prophesized invaders somehow. Only the party cleric-7/fighter-7 of Lathandar knows how though. :)

Next some uppity demons in the unapproachable east will divert our attention. After that we travel off plane to gain some insight into the enemy. (We've only met one of them and he soundly defeated a group of 14 PCs by himself after a slight amount of softening up.) Seems there's this other plane where the invaders once lived. Sucked it dry of most of its resources and left.

* The cool thing about the undead is that in last 2e game we played 4 years ago, the party was investigating a gate where vast numbers of undead were being called to. Every graveyard within a hundred miles of Silverymoon was spitting up skeletons and zombies and they would wander southwest to the a large staging area. Last we saw, there were thousands of these things standing around and a suspicious set of arcane columns. The columns were about to open as a portal and the undead were going to step through. We never did get back to that. The DMs cannot decide if those adventurers will show up to the final showdowns of the campaign as it turns Epic.

** They first conquered the lost continent opposite Faerun whose name escapes me completely. By the FRCS, Amn trades with this continent but not in our game. It's still basically unknown. This is where the above undead were going. There they were enhanced, armed and eventually portaled by to Tethyr.

I say we and our a lot up there. That's because I both play and DM in the campaign. There are three DMs in the group and we take turns with the stories which is why I call the sword of heron the last story arc. I DMed the sound thrashing and will DM the off plane interlude.

Oh, and no, we don't ever follow what is happening in the novels.

I'm running a campaign with 3 level 8 PCs.

I actually picked up mid-campaign from the other DM, but changed it up so it takes place in FR.

All 3 of the PCs are from the North, around Waterdeep and Silverymoon. The campaign started them at level 5, so they had enough money to hire a wizard to give them a one-way trip to Shadowdale, where they went in search of adventure. In Shadowdale, they were asked by the Temple of Lathander to look for a missing cleric within the Spiderhaunt Woods. The PCs found him, but discovered that he had converted to the Church of Shar. In addition, the cleric stole an artifact from the temple, a magical stone known as the Heart of the Phoenix. They chased the cleric to the town of Tilverton to the south. This was all backstory and gave the PCs info on how the campaign started.

While in Tilverton, they made the acquantice of the Purple Dragons, explored the sewers running into a mind flayer and a vampire spawn of Cyric. They agreed to help a priest of Lathander within Tilverton, protect the shrine from the Priest of Shar that they were chasing. They had 3 days to kill before the priest returned to Tilverton. During that time they were targeted by a group of Fire Knive assassins and robbed by the Rogues of Tilverton. They patrolled the Stonelands with a Harper from Tilverton and ended up killing a stone giant bandit. They returned to Tilverton and found the Fire Knive base within the sewers and put a stop to them. They also visited the Church of Gond and purchased some fine firearms. Finally, the Priest of Shar arrived and the PCs defeated him and retrieved the Heart of the Phoenix.

Before returning to Shadowdale, they decided to go and explore the Stonelands with their Harper friend one last time. Actually, it was also to get a discount from her brother who would sell them a magical weapon at half-price for accompanying her sister on another patrol mission. In the Stonelands, they found a keep infested with orc raiders, which they cleared out. Now, they are making plans to make the keep their own and claim the title of the Baron of the Stonelands. King Azoun IV has a standing invitation for any adventurer who can clear the Stonelands.

The campaign takes place during the Year of the Wyvern, roughly between the events in the 2nd Ed Campaign Setting and the events in the FRCS.

Not sure what other plot or story elements to add yet, just basic guard the keep from attacks and explore the area around the Stonelands. The PCs still have to return the Heart of the Phoenix to Shadowdale, but are taking their time since they are interested in their new stronghold. I've added in elements dealing with the Iron Throne, who are secretly supplying weapons to evil doers. The PCs know of this and suspect this, but have no concrete proof.

I am running one that takes place in DR 1370. The party of six (human fighter, human bard, elven mage, human cleric, human rogue, dward ranger) have tracked some persistant bandits who appear to be behind the recent undead troubles of Dragon Falls (The Vast), numerous raided caravans and a murder of a woman who had brought the group to Dragon Fals to begin with. The party has tracked them to a small farm north of town by several hours on foot. Turns out the farm is more of a small stronghold and not as abandoned as they thought it may be. Said party is now trapped inside the barn.

My players--currently around 10th level--are traveling from Wyvernhunt in the Storm Horns to a location NE of Rashemn. There they hope to locate and launch a Dragonstar-tech spacecraft. A threat to the entire Realms in the form of Orcus is readying a weapon which will launch asteroids from Selune's tears onto the surface. Once the bulk of Faerun's population is destroyed, great towers teleport from the last destroyed planet and begin to turn Faerun's millions of dead into undead. I used a classic time travel "what-if" module last time to show what is going to happen if the PCs fail to stop Orcus' meteor thrower. Should be a fun new season in the campaign! :D

Currently cleaning out some underground ruins on the southern edge of the Hullack Forest, probably moving after that the help clear out a stronghold in the Thunder Peaks.

The 12th level party's homebase is in Sembia. But at the moment they are searching the Western Mountains in Cormyr looking for something called The Redclaw...

We're going through the Bastion of Broken Souls adapted for the Forgotten Realms. I am running a heavy roleplay drow campaign next set in the city of Brundag. Should be interesting.
