One and ONLY one? Hard drive/backup of documents. Even things like 3rd Edition PHB signed at GenCon 2000 by Gygax, Arneson, and the 3E designers, my complete collection of Dragon magazine (even including Strategic Review), etc. SHOULD be replaceable. Files full of old character sheets, maps, and notes from old campaigns, though NOT replaceable, I could bear to lose far easier than newer, digitized information.Geoffrey said:If your house was burning and you had a split second in which to choose one, and only one, of your RPG items to save from being burned, which one would you choose?
Dude, I now have a fully formed picture of you in my mind. It's pretty much Michael Gross' character from Tremors.Norfleet said:If my home were burning, it'd be because I set it on fire. One of the lovely things about living encased in steel and concrete is that napalm becomes your universal pest control and cleaning solution. If an actual fire, probably involving large amounts of thermite, somehow managed to start down here, the ensuing secondary munitions explosions would wipe everything out faster than you could run, anyway. I order ammo by truckloads. In fact, next week, I have three truckloads scheduled to arrive for National Ammo Day.
Yeah, because concrete and steel would NEVER burn. Just ask all those people in the World Trade Center.Norfleet said:because if you insist on building your house out of flammable materials like a moron, it WILL burn down. It's inevitable, and wishful thinking is only denying that flammables burn. Build from concrete and steel. Not only are they non-flammable, they're also a lot easier to come by, as trees become more and more scarce.
