I don't know about perfect -- that's too freakish an idea to actually happen. The best day of my life was a couple years ago at a barbecue I did. Surrounded by about 15-20 great friends, family, and awesome food.

After plummeting to a strange foreign planet equipped only with a parachute, 2-4 of Corona, and a months supply of cheddar nachoes with salsa, I quickly realize that the alien sentience are all buxom females resembling Christina Agulara.

Saddled with the responsiblity of lounging around all day while they bring me food, and rearing their children, I kick back in front of the internet reading Penny Arcade and CNNDotcom in my off time.

Best consecutive 48 hours of my life:

Friday night -- visit my girlfriend at another college and see Billy Joel in concert.
Saturday -- gaming all day with her and the rest of my old gaming group from high school
Saturday night -- we all go see Genesis in concert.
Sunday morning -- wake up to the smells of grandma cooking breakfast
Sunday -- Renaissance Faire with the old gang
Sunday night -- grandma's pot roast

I don't know that I will ever top that. I think at my age, it would probably kill me.

My perfect day is when I crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentations of their women.

My perfect day is the first day of summer vacation. I've just wrapped up everything at work. It's mid-June, cloudless blue sky, temps in the mid 70's. I wake up at 7 am when my wife gets up to go to work; lounge around for a while, maybe have some coffee and a shower, and then start my day. I might do some yard work so I feel that I've accomplished something. I definitely go on a 2 hour bike ride or a 3 hour hike and get good and worn out. Wife comes home from work and we go out to a favorite restaurant to eat and talk. Snuggle with the wife as I read a good book and fall asleep.

I almost need a whole weekend to get in all the good stuff. Because somewhere in there I need about 4 perfect hours of gaming where it all goes right for me (the DM) and the players.

I don't have a single perfect day. There are several types of perfect days:

Perfect day with the kids - out doing something they really enjoy, no fighting, lots of laughs.

Perfect day with the wife - no kids, no pressure, no clothes, lots of laughs.

Perfect day with friends - this one I have had several times as we try and get together at this nice beach in Maine each summer. It is a relaxing day every time.

Perfect day alone - Kick back, play some computer games, read a good book, ignore the "Honey Do" list and not get crap for it later.

You, sir, are a wise man.

In any event, I have to say that my wedding was a pretty $%^@*& good day. The only reason it wasn't perfect was because it only lasted 24 hours.
