Your Trek?

Funny... I'd didn't catch the Khan episode until much, much later. I didn't find it detracted from the movie though.

The Original Series (since my dad showed me them when I was a kid), and then ST: TMP. I really liked that movie, and it drew me further into the franchise (though I do like ST2 and ST6 the best).

I know I'm one of the only ENWorlders who likes the first Star Trek movie...

Especially since Kahn shouldn't have known who the heck Chekov was.

Don't get me wrong The Wrath of Kahn is possibly my favourite Trek film only matched by Undiscovered Country (with an even larger plot hole). Final Frontier sucked. Hard. Anyone who likes it must be completely insane. Seriously.

V was my least favorite of all the Trek movies...and I have them all. Wasn't that the one that Shatner wrote/directed?

Directed. Didn't write. He had a story credit, which probably means that with the meeting of the three people, he came up with some ideas.

So which Star Trek movie was the one that got you on board? Which one made you a true fan?

I was a fan of the original series in the reruns and saw ST I and ST II in the theatres. So I was a fan a bit before STII came out. But I have to agree that ST II was great!

"KKKHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNN!! You blood sucker!!"

Trek II was IMO the best of the franchise - it was dark, very strong in dramatic tension, and had a hint of humor here and there to break it up.

That said, MY Trek movie was not that one; my trek movie was Probably Trek IV. As some may know, I'm a sucker for time travel movies, and this one had some of the greatest humor of the whole franchise.

Number two on my list, unsurprisingly, is Trek VIII - the time travel, Dr. Cochrane, Picquard's internal demons, the first contact, and some of the second-best humor in the series for me. Such a momentous event as "the first Warp flight for humanity" - and it's accompanied by Steppenwolf's "magic carpet ride." :)
