You're a 3.5 Conjurer. What are your opposed schools?

Unlike the Enchanter thread, I'm going with a Conjurer.

Besides Necromancy, what would be the other school to drop?

It's 3.5 core w/ the Complete Books only.

Thanks in advance.

I played a Drd/Wiz/MT in the last campaign I was in. I was a conjurer and I dropped Ench and Ill. Giving up Invis was tough but I really like some of the Necro spells.

My current wizard is an conjure.

I picked two outragous oposition schools
evocation and transmutation

Required feats Sp focus Conj which leads to Improved Summoning
(again the UA option would be preferable here)

sp Focus is a bit of a waste, not enough spells to use it with.

I ended up taking sp and greater sp. Greasing the BEG weapon is a favorite.
I would at least replace the greater with improved init.

7th - 8th level. I have become a major support caster.

False life, heroism, improved invis help the fighters and rogues.
Dire Wolf with a +15 bite with trip, AE crowd control. This is the character has a big impact but I tend to burn though spells, allowing the druid and priest to save their heals.

Spell penatration is much less of a requirement because many spells have no SR.

The biggest suprise for our group is the 3rd lvl (SumMob) holy cow is one bad MF

Don't forget invis + summon = still invis

I would not focus on summoning unless you have the UA option to summon as a standard.

Evocation is the first easy choice , because your summons can deal enough damage one way or another and there are good damaging spells in conjuration (also most of them ,that deal damage, are "spell resistance: no " spells)

The second school to drop is up to the concept of the character you want to built.

Dont drop illusion and you have invisibility to use while sending your summons attack poor enemies (very convenient strategy), and a lot of spells to confuse and make them hesitate before attacking real creatures or illusions.

Dont drop enchantment and you can deal subtly as well as effectively with living enemies but as this school and style is not my favorite i would drop it without any guilt.

Enchantment and Evocation; if i want to charm people, i'll play a telepath, and if i want to blast people, well, Conjuration has me more than covered.

I realize Necromancy is generally regarded as a weak school, but it's my favourite and, evil SOB that i am, i can never quite seem to give it up. :p

Generally I agree with you. Evocation is easy to live with out, but every other school, even the much maligned Necromancy, has something I want.

However, if I must specialize for some reason, I simply force myself to rely on illusions and enchantments for my evil purposes.
