I would just like to point out to whomever may come along and read this thread in the future that one should research getting one's book into the stores BEFORE actually printing the book. Perhaps even before buying artwork or even writing the book. Chris gave some great advice above but that (specific) advice will not be accurate 6-12 months from now. Deciding you want to see your book on store shelves means you need a business plan and marketting plan. Part of both those documents is researching the business/market you are attempting to enter. Questions you should be asking when the book is out are "which of these researched methods to accomplish X is better?" not "what are the methods to accomplish X?"
