The first born son of the sky father and earth mother who governs the waters in and around Aoteari. He does not take sides defined by good and evil and often does not care for mortal matters and only cares for the beings that dwell in the water. He lives under the great lake of Taupor, the largest lake in Maui in his underwater domain. He often calls upon and uses his 5 guardian children called the Taniwha to protect his water kingdoms from those that may seek to poison or disrespect the balance and life of the beings that ruled under him. The common civilized races often pay him and his water kingdoms respect and build shrines in his name as to not anger the wrath of either him or his powerful Taniwha children. Even the wicked Whiro is reluctant and takes caution as to not face the wrath of his eldest brother as it is said he is the mightiest of all children born from the sky father and earth mother.

The Last born and youngest of the children born from the sky father and earth mother. He is the embodiment of all evil in Aoteari. He seeks nothing more then to bring death and misery to all beings. He is a master of trickery, deception and lies and is always cunning and scheming, wishing to undermine the authority of his parents and siblings. He draws his power from death, pain and suffering of others and lives in his vast underground kingdom below the swamps of Kara. He is attended by many creatures such as all those that befoul the cycle of life and death such as liches, necromancers and other undead beings. His most vast servants are the Weta race who were created in his image and who make up the bulk of his servants who seek the pleasures of pain and death of others. It is even said he seeks allies (perhaps demon lords?) to further his goals and to see all life defiled and removed.
