Meksoor grinned as she loaded a bolt into her crossbow. "Like this." She then stepped out into the clearing, shouting a challenge to the rotting beast.

"Yeah," Aidan says, "That should do it." He runs after her if the beast charges after them.

The beast looks up at the yell and the shot, and it's glare is filled with mindless hate. It springs into the air, managing to fly 60' toward you in the first round. Meksoor and Aidan can both move 60' with a double move, and faster if they get open ground to run on, so it gains no distance on them as they run back to the barn.

The others can hear them coming from a decent distance, and the trap is prepared.

Aidan does his best to keep pace with Meksoor, but not out pace her.

As they ran, Meksoor shared her thoughts with Aidan. "You know, it's strange the thoughts that enter your mind at times like these. Suddenly, I'm reminded of Gamluut, a goblin scout of ancient Dhakaan. Are you familiar with his story? He was one of the first of our people to encounter the wretched servants of the Daelkyr and escape with his life. He raced for days on foot without food, water or rest to deliver the news to the Emperor so that he might raise an army to face this new threat." Her eyes glazed over and her voice took on a heavy, stentorian tone as she recited the epic poem she had learned in her youth, translating it to the Common tongue as she went.
