Chillborn: great concept, cool mechanic (more zombies in the room = more chill). The name isn't too terrible either. I will be using this one a lot. Oh yes.

Corruption: sort of reminds me of the zombies in Quake. I think. Or was itResident Evil? I can never keep those first-person shooter games straight. Anyway, spiffy idea.

Gravehound: Straight out of Resident Evil. Some will balk at the "videogameyness" of this beastie (especially that "final strike" ability), but I dig it.

So that's 3/3 for me.

A zombie loo? I am not intrigued by your ideas and wish to unsubscribe from your newsletter, &c.

I like it. I'm generally a big fan of undead. I don't really see being hit with zombie tissue as weaking a charater, but I can go along with it. These monsters sound like fun. I hope they have a wide assortment of skellys to go along with them.

As long as plain regular zombies are in the MM, every variation added is good IMO.

One worry: I hope that it doesn't become a standard that every single cold-themed monster (or every single cold-damaging attack) also slows the target down.

Why not? That's what it does in Guild Wars!

The article makes this sound like a new idea, but variant undead hae been in several issues of Dragon magazine, in Van Richten's guides and in my game for a long time.

Are the designers just now noticing this?

Everything's better with zombies!

The corruption one does inspire me to create a variant that tears out its own intestines and uses them as a whip (or a spiked chain...hrmmm)....
