News of Arkrul Dree's
call for adventurers has spurred tavern talk throughout
Suzail. Folk in the know say "Dree's Dowagers" are twenty five or so mansions--all of them abandoned--on the north side of
Saerloon, in
Sembia. News of the Sembian’s call for adventurer aid has reached the ears of Morligul and Mountarn, Map Makers (co-owners of an open-faced shop in
Suzail that resembles a barn and shares a common wall with Dragonhaven, a rooming house for sages), who’ve offered to sell maps the two claim show the layout of a handful of the Dowagers.
Tavern talk also tells of the adventurer and rogue Traevyn of Six Candles, who supposedly followed a broadcryer after their paid announcement on behalf of Arkrul Dree was made. The next morning saw Traevyn at the Eel Revealed. There, gathered around a table piled high with eels bathed in morel sauce, the adventurer announced to his fellow Men of the Horngate (a band of novice adventures only recently chartered) that Dree's agent is none other than Sorarrestra Velmark, a notorious (and ageless) Sembian adventurer for hire who's rumored to hunt the Shadovar who survived Thultanthar's spectacular fall over Myth Drannor and slay them on sight.
That Traevyn so carelessly broadcast his discovery within earshot of the Eel's packed dining room has led some folk to conclude that the adventurer was paid off by whomever Dree's true agent in
Suzail is in order to tell a false story. However, most folk who've heard this story have concluded Traevyn's behavior is the result of his inexperience as an adventurer.
