  • Suzailans are warming themselves on the slow trickle of news and rumors finding its way into Cormyr's capitol.

Among the latest clack to arrive from distant Sembia: A writ of arrest has been issued for Taumpras Irorlar. The writ includes a reward of 500 gold pieces for his safe return to Saerloon to face charges of theft.

Interested parties (be they pouncehawks, mercenaries, or adventurers) may purchase a non-refundable writ of retainer for 1/10th the reward promised, at government offices in Saerloon. A writ of retainer is recognized in most cities within the Heartlands as granting the holder the legal right to capture and detain an individual without interference from local authorities.

Most experienced pouncehawks (think: bounty hunters) know that how an individual is captured in Cormyr matters as much or more than which government issued a particular writ. As the famous Tethyrian pouncehawk Runtharnla "Man Catcher" Morlangur was overheard to explain to a novice pouncehawk, "Every Queen's Lord is your ally or your enemy. A writ of retainer is no shield from them. Harm the common folk and the nearest local lord will issue a writ for your own capture! You will sit in the stockade while your prey goes free. Better, then, to make friends, hey? A local lord has eyes everywhere. 'Tis easier to catch prey with assistance generously offered."
