Narančasta, Siva

"Thank you for getting them all here safely Brom," says Narančasta.

Siva eyes the darts carried by the Jester and the Scribe. Well, we had been hoping for some missile weapons.

Narančasta greets each of the new comers, taking the opportunity to look them over. At least they have weapons of a sorts. Some of them he remembers from the town meeting.

"We are glad you came. But be under no illusions, it will be dangerous. We have already lost Roger, Bijela, Xim, Alaric and Happy.

"We have investigated the courtyard and were just preparing to enter the keep itself."

Having done all they can in the courtyard, Narančasta is keen to started and will start herding people towards the entrance.

Zim follows closely by Narancasta, with Borok and Dudles in tow. The turnip farmer-turned-porter is looking this way and that, terrified of the situation he's found himself in.

"Oh, where to now?" he thinks aloud.

The halfling Zim chuckles. "To death, friend. Let's have at it and see if we can't stab them on our way to the grave!"

OOC: is there a dagger among the ashes or the dead characters? I just realized Zim should have one.

And is it okay if I call him Xim? Maybe to honor his fallen cousin, maybe to match the symbol of chaos with the X?

At the mention of high mortality, each of the 4 have the same variation of solemn acceptance of the warning. They all follow, those with weapons have them at the ready.

Items at the ready:

Franko: Darts

Jakob: Shortsword

Homar: chalk ti mark where to step on the blocks, then a Shortsword to fight with

Hank: Darts

Siva

The halfling Zim chuckles. "To death, friend. Let's have at it and see if we can't stab them on our way to the grave!"

Siva gives her companion another long look. Since the death of Xim, and falling down the well, he has been acting a little odd. Siva was pretty sure that he had taken to calling himself Xim, although the pronunciation of the two was so close as it make it difficult to tell. Now this macabre sense of humour.

There was one found at the vine horrors. Other than that I don't recall any.

I just realized Zim should have one.
Hummm. Why the sudden interest in stabbity stabbity?

And is it okay if I call him Xim? Maybe to honor his fallen cousin, maybe to match the symbol of chaos with the X?
Sure.[/sblock]

Boral is still huffing from pushing Betsy up the rest of the way. Amazingly the cow made it with a minimum of fuss. "Hey new guys. You're right to be scared, as I'm beginning to think we may not make it out of here."

Tender quickly says, "Nonsense. Although we've had some losses, we've pulled through despite some nasty scrapes. The evil here can't be endless. I mean, it really can't, right?"

Kurl doesn't want the newcomers to be shaken in their faith in themselves, else he may have to lead. "That's right. You lads will be fine. Just stick with Tender when he goes charging and listen to what he says."

They all talk with subdued voices saying something to the effect of 'yup, right. follow Tender into battle!'

Narančasta, Siva

Narančasta turns to Tender, who seems to have the attention of many of the party.

"Gather everyone together. It is time to enter the Keep proper."

Meanwhile Narančasta heads over to the door leading into the south east tower. He gives it a close inspection (not touching it for the moment) and spends a moment listening to see if he can hear anything on the other side.

Siva shadows him keeping a wary eye on the gargoyle above the door; the creatures still give her the creeps.

Franko: Perception 1d20+1=20

Jakob: Perception 1d20=18

Homar: Perception 1d20=3

Hank: Perception 1d20-1=4

While Homar and Hank gawk around at the courtyard, Franko and Jakob notices Siva looking at the Gargoyle. Being the repressed wallflower that he is, the jester walks over to Siva and asks,"What is wrong? Did that come alive and kill the others that have perished?"

Flanked by crumbling stone walls that reach nearly thirty feet into the grey sky, the moss-covered tower stands proud despite the ravages of time. A tall, rust-bound portal bars the tower's sole visible entrance, watched over by the leering demonic gargoyle that Siva warily covers. Narančasta hears nothing at the heavy door; whatever cowardly beings lurk within seem to be playing a waiting game or following some other nefarious plan.
