Sailors on the Starless Sea

Siva, Narančasta

While Homar and Hank gawk around at the courtyard, Franko and Jakob notices Siva looking at the Gargoyle. Being the repressed wallflower that he is, the jester walks over to Siva and asks,"What is wrong? Did that come alive and kill the others that have perished?"

Siva shakes her head. "Not so far. But given what has happened so far, they make me nervous. Narančasta doesn't like them either. He has hated Gargoyles ever since he was a boy."

Narančasta, meanwhile, having finished checking the door, gets ready to enter. If anyone has oil, and the hinges are visible, he will get some oil on them. He will also get a couple of the others to have torches ready (not lit) in case they are needed. When everyone is ready and that the other two with armour are up front with him. He slaps them on the shoulder and gives each a fiendish grin.

"Tip of the spear," he says. And opens the door.

[whisper]"We are all gunna die"[/whisper] says Homer. The other three glare darkly at him. Yes, even the jester.

Narančasta

*sigh*

This place will be the death of me.

Having inspected the door already, Narančasta decides to let someone else take a look. They have a stonemason, blacksmith and carpenter among their number. Surely this shouldn't be beyond them.

Meanwhile he looks around for some form of latch or lock or something surrounding the door.

[roll0] just in case.

Aside from the latch, which Narančasta has already tried and found secured, there is nothing to be found around the door that might trigger its opening. Hinges are secured behind the door and are not visible from this side. Above the door the demonic gargoyle grins down on the group's efforts.

Tender grunts as he looks over the door, "Hmph! What poor workmanship was involved here to let a door corrode so?"

OOC: How badly are the boundaries of the heavy door rusted? Enough to break up with some tools?

Brom will lend his skills as a stonemason by inspect the doorway to see if they could breach the door by dislodging the hinges or lock.

Geoffrey and Fendrel will mill about close to the doorway...Geoffrey still taking the occasional practive swing with his mace and Fendrel searching for a couple of good throwing rocks.

While not exactly Tender's area of expertise Tender and Brom both know that even an inappropriate tool and enough time would see them through the door. If lucky they might even be able to pop the door by using Tender's crowbar at the weak spots and avoid spending a lot of time.

[sblock=OOC]DC 20 Str check to force the door. Undetermined amount of time and work will eventually do enough damage to break the door open.[/sblock]
