This.

In context, it would be similar to someone saying, "I saw the trailer for John Wick 4. I have to draw the line at this one- I didn't realize that John might kill people!"
They should have just left that poor собака alone... by this point, I've lost count, but I think John might have killed at least the population of a mid-sized town.

This response really seems to indicate unfamiliarity with this game franchise and its content. Playing the earlier installments routinely involves greater violence and criminality. If he's fine with simulated murder, assassination, aggravated assault, carjacking, and (can't remember if it's optional or core) beating up sex workers, it's at least strange for him to stop now and object to killing armed opponents simply because they're agents of the state.

To complain specifically about the opening scene of 5 is nonsensical in context (ie: to anyone who's played these games). That's why it's getting mocked. 🤷‍♂️

You're missing the context of the content of the games. They are famous for greater violence and have been for a couple of decades now.
Did he say that he was OK with earlier GTA games, or is GTA too much for him as a franchise?

And I mean, there are people who don't like action movies precisely because they are violent.

His post says he balked at GTA5. It doesn't say anything about whether he played any other game in this series. Do you know that he did, or did you just assume it?

Sure!

But John Wick ..... 4 is probably a little too late in the series for the person to make that realization.
Well, someone may not want to watch any of the John Wick movies, but only mention 4 because it's what in theaters and what people are talking about?

Honestly not trying to be any sort of apologist for the guy, but I have to say this isn't a lowlight of hisnposting history IMO.

Honestly there is so much garbage to go through with Musk, I can't even care about why or why not he play's GTA 5. What he says sounds reasonable, so I think it sends off little shockwaves in peoples brains more because of the source than the content.

Yeah, like I would totally tell someone I didn’t buy GTA5 due to the violence and such. I wouldn’t feel the need to specify it was also the reason I didn’t buy any of the other ones as well. I would assume it was, well, assumed.

Like when Avengers came out, and someone told me they didn’t go see it because hey hate super heroes, I wouldn’t automatically assume they had gone to see the previous ones just because they didn’t call out each one individually.

Back to Disney.

Their SEC filing says:
"We face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products.... Further, consumers' perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands."
