I play RPGA living games at conventions because my daughter and I can play together, and because I can play with people who aren't part of my regular gaming group.
What's the problem?
A doppleganger doesn't become insubstantial or gain any other powers of its new form when it changes shape. If it changed to a ghost, it would look like a ghost but would be quite solid (giving it away). If it changed into a zombie, it would still breath (probably giving it...
I've honestly never understood this statement. In every edition, every player I ever had read the magic item section in the DMG. The only difference now is that you don't have to access the DMG when you're not running the game. Players have always had access to all the stats on all the magic...
On the other hand, you could try role-playing and build the character that best fits your concept - instead of trying to squeeze every point of combat advantage out of the character. I can't imagine ever choosing a character race based on what bonuses it gave me to what stat.
I've only had a...
I seriously doubt it will be a paragon path. If you've read any Eberron material, you know how integral artificers are to the campaign - and how rare any NPC over 10th level is.
I suspect that Artificers will be arcane leaders, but I could see them as controllers. At their core artificers are...
A wizard can no more throw a magic missile every six seconds than a fighter can swing his sword every six seconds. Atttempting either action would bring on fatigue. D&D doesn't have rules for fatigue (thank FSM), so this issue needs to be solved by every table in the way that is best for them...
It doesn't have a paragraph on disguise under bluff, but the PHB does mention (under the bluff skill) that it can be used to pass off a disguise, with a bluff vs. insight check. How much more do we need? If you give a modifier to the check based on how extreme the disguise is, you should be good...
PC Backgrounds
I like my characters to have backgrounds that include professions and crafting as well. I just don't like the PCs to become better bakers than anyone else in town just because they've killed a few orcs. I'm thinking of allowing PCs to choose backgrounds and treat them as skills...
I'm not convinced that rituals (aside from magic item creation) need anything to balance them out. I like low (or perhaps reasonable) character wealth and the gold piece cost for rituals really bothers me.
I may give it a try without components, or with much cheaper components. Since rituals...
I'm not sure how prohibiting further actions after a charge implies that they are prohibited before a charge as well. Just because all dragonborn females have boobies doesn't mean that all females with boobies are dragonborn.
