Your Favorite Dungeon Villains and Locations?

My favorite location is definitely Ulmade Castle from 'Forgotten Man' in issue 75, a truly marvellous keep on the edge of a waterfall. My favorite villain brother Selmo, the misguided priest from 'Priestly Secrets' (issue 71), whose good intentions unleash an ancient evil. Sweet, definitely one...

Saying Goodbye to Dungeon/Dragon - Our Thoughts

Thank you Dungeon for having been the heart of my game for many years now - and even if I didn't use the adventures in play, thanks for providing me a good read before turning in for the night.

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

Funny, I did the same when I first wanted to read the book. Then I gave it another go. Suffice to say that I was happy I did.

What do you want to ask WotC?

    - If you make a digital replacement of Dungeon, what will it look like? It seems that one thing that made Dungeon magazine grow during the last couple of years were the adventure paths. Will you be publishing complete campaign adventures as well, especially with Paizo offering an alternative...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

For me, Dungeon magazine was the heart of my D&D world. Wizards just cut it out. Way to go , guys! Of all the stupid and frustrating marketing based decisions you've made, this one tops it all. I just wonder what great idea you'll come up with next.

    Fighting Defensively

Deadly defense does not give +2 to AC, only +1d6 extra dmg with light weapons when fighting defensively OR when using combat expertise at at least +2 AC. So the +2 AC is simply the combat expertise bonus.

How Do You Deal With Splatbooks?

As a DM my preference would be to only use the core and Forgotten Realms books, but since some of my players are enthusiastic build specialists, I allow core books, PHBII, FR and complete books. This generally leads to rather powerful characters, which is not really a problem, as long as it...

Dungeon #114 - Mad God's Key (spoilers likely)

It really was an excellent adventure. This one is as good as it gets. Kudos to the author. I really had fun running it with my group.

What do you want to see in the fourth Adventure Path?

I quite like the idea of 1-12, with one adventure for every level. No 15-20 level would also keep the demons and dragons out. With the 2 AP published so far, I always got the feeling that the campaign got weaker towards the end (although AP2 did a much better job than AP1). I'm all in favor of...

How do you slay a red dragon?

Seeing how you have no experience with dragons, I'll assume your players don't either. A mature red dragon is enough of a challenge as it is. Do not try to make it too powerful either, unless you want your party to fail. The ideas of some kind of protection vs. cold and soem nifty escape routes...

    Need opinion on Dragon/Dungeon

Definitely Dungeon! Up to an unprecedented standard since their latest change.

When the system gets in the way

Having just found this thread, I can relate to quite a few of the points raised. Though I do nog agree that min-maxing gets in the way of roleplaying from the players' side at all (at least not in my campaign), it does tend to get in the way of the DM's focus. As a DM you have to have a good...

How would you like to see a PDF version of Dragon/Dungeon

The problem with pdf versions is that it gets spread over the internet quickly through the illegal free channels. So by providing pdf's (too quickly) a company could be committing virtual suicide.

Ever Play In/Run a Campaign Where Everyone Played Characters of same Race & Class?

I have DM'ed a campaign for five years with just two players: a human rogue (with one sorcerer level); a human wizard-rogue-arcane trickster. Same race and matching classes, but still do-able. You do not necessarily need a cleric if you provide alternatives for healing.
