For D&D you might look to Origins or Gen Con.

Good friend of mine from college works for Hasbro. He said the same thing. D&D 5.0 has sold a lot more than 3.5. He said that it wasn't even close.

Comic Quest in Laguna Hills had the Starter Set early and I was told they would have the PHB early as well. It's off of El Toro and the 5 Freeway.

I plan on running a short campaign with Eberron (love that setting) that will take the characters from 1st to about 10th level. After that is complete I'll most likely move to Greyhawk.

I am supporting this Kickstarter, as I do with all the Frog God/Necro stuff. High quality writing. High quality product.

Well, short of waiting for D&D Next you could give Castles & Crusades (sort of a 1st edition D&D with the D20 system thrown in) or Swords & Wizardry (oe of D&D) a try. Both are rules light, have the old school feel and have lots of material already made for the game.

I am really hoping someone will do this as well. I like 4e, at least enough to give it a "real" try and have my players play thru a full campaign before I decide one way or another on the system. The mods I have seen so far for 4e from WotC are not for me, however, I love the Pathfinder...

I learned about C&C at Gen Con after deciding that I would probably not go down the 4ed path of D&D and have been really excited about what I've seen from the game. Very rules light, a 1st edition feel, decent sized community and a passionate fan base....oh yeah, and Gary Gygax.
