    Leafshadow

Dude. Shadow creature is overpowered for sure. I am feeling its unholy cheese of displacement in my campaign right now.

    Leafshadow

I have always wondered why people always use fighter in their examples. That template kills for a bard, rogue, or sorcerer. Damage reduction cold iron is quite nice as my asura (with Thick-Skinned) proves every week. Cannot say I can be persuaded to go less than four. What can I say?

The Shadowlands Oni (Updated 10-17: oni Overlord)

Fair enough. Would you mind if I threw in one from Creatures of Rokugan? I think fans of Rokugan would love to see Okura no Oni, a Lawful Good oni, as a counterpoint to the evil of the Shadowlands.

The Shadowlands Oni (Updated 10-17: oni Overlord)

To this day I think the dokufu is the coolest monster ever. Why Carceri? Akuma no Oni with much haste please!

the SUNSTAR - another new creation from me!

Yes. Deathless for sure. But that would make it an "exalted" creature. So maybe explain that it isn't or copy the text as "Sunstar Traits" or somethig like that. Don't forget to edit the CR thing.

    DnD 3.x encounters per day

Somewhere between five to seven almost every day unless terrain says otherwise. Location plays a part in what is an encounter or not as I rarely treat anything that isn't hostile an encounter. A city has fewer of these encounters so it can be as little as three in these situations.

Your opinion about very small PDFs

I have to be honest. I don'r reallly like PDFs that much. They are quite often a pain in the ass to use and I would prefer having a book in my hand (to read on my lunch break or while relaxing in the yard with a lemonade) rather than having to jump back and forth in Acrobat. I didn't vote...

    More time gaming or ENWorlding?

Considering I game weekly for about eight hours but I only come here to get news and answer the front-page poll I’d have to say I game more. I do occasionally check out the article and the homebrew section but I really don’t think I can add much that somebody else hasn’t already said despite...

Do you read non-RPG fantasy novels?

I haven't read any books in a long time. Most new RPG books are in fact lame. SOmething about trying to fit rules into the context of a novel. That being said I used to read FR RPG books like the Drizzt books and the Avatar books. I have read most of the older Dragonlance books as well. Other...

How long do your gaming sessions last?

Every single Sunday from about 1:00 PM to about 9:00 PM. Sometimes (rarely) they go just a little bit more and others just a little bit less. The important thing is that we haven't missed more than say three games in the last year and a half. Before that we went almost three years playing every...

    Social skills in D&D

"Talk it out", then roll the dice to see how the PC delivers it and the NPC takes it (if it is needed). That is how I do it as a DM but when I play I prefer to do it the other way around. I roll then talk it out that way I have a little bit of space to work with in case I get a bad roll...

    The CORE of the Matter

"The Warlock and the Warmage for me are narrowed sorcerers and feel just plain boring. No new concept at all IMHO." The warlock is about as close to broken as it gets IMHO. You should see what my friend is getting away with. Where did my signature go?

    The CORE of the Matter

"The Hexblade also has no new concept at all, being just another take to the fighter/mage idea." I love hexblades. More of an alternate evil paladin or something like that.

    The CORE of the Matter

I play just about whatever I feel fits the mood. Oh. BTW...the spirit shaman blows.

Why do you buy high-level adventures?

High-level mods are useless unless you run a game with no continuity between adventures. Otherwise I rip out monsters, NPCs, and traps as needed. I do most of my own map work though.

What is your current character's core class?

Asura 9 (Dragon Magazine #312). Possible future barbarian or paladin of freedom. Didn't vote by the way. Previous character was a Gold Dragon 9 (Dragon Magazine #320). Before that it was a Star Elf (FR) Druid 6 (Unearthed Arcana)/Lion of Talisid 7 (BoED). Rest in peace old friend.

[FR] Do you use the Realms cosmology?

Actually I use both cosmologies and in fact the cosmology of the world my PCs are. As a FR player and DM we envision our shared game worlds as encompassing coterminous cosmologies with the Great Wheel as the central cosmology and all others branching off from there. For example Mystra maintains...

Your favourite level to PLAY at?

As a player I love 12th to 18th the most. As a DM I love the higher levels so I can throw the heavy stuff against the wall an see what sticks.
