Yeah, that will get you as far with us (and likely, GR) as it will with WotC. Make sure to go to a company's website and find out if a company even accepts submission proposals (we currently do not) and, if so, how to submit. It will indeed get you practice. The hope of catching the attention...

The last we heard, it was WotC, WW, Paizo. I think that was in terms of revenue. Or maybe it was from a distributor or something. Anyway, it's probably also an accurate guess at staff size as well. :)

Most people at Paizo and WotC hate the terms "crunch" and especially "fluff." We prefer "mechanics" and "flavor." For what it's worth. :)

The percentage is lower than most ENWorlders or Paizo messageboarders think. Up until the last issues we printed people STILL thought we were a branch of WotC, and I would not be surprised if some continue to believe that.

Several of the unnamed people I know where hoping the same thing. Alas, it was not meant to be. But from the sections I've seen, it looks like it should be fairly cool nonetheless. ;)

The sense unnamed people I know got when writing the book (and contrary to what the cover says, Mr. Schwalb did not write it all himself) was that it was meant as a campaign ender. In hindsight, I imagine it's meant to serve the same purpose as those 2e adventures that destroyed worlds to allow...

I'd like to point out here that Paizo will continue to include gnomes (and bards and monks and druids and all the other stuff that appears to be getting axe) in our campaign setting. :)

It's not shipped using the periodicals rate because it's not a periodical. When you sign up for a subscription to Pathfinder you get to choose the way we ship it to you. :)

Because the magazine business sucks, frankly. And starting up a new magazine that could even possibly maybe have the same amount of exposure as Dragon or Dungeon would cost at least 10s—if not 100s—of thousands of dollars. I'm hoping Wolfgang Baur's Kobold Quarterly becomes a profitable success...

I think it's way, way, way too early to know the answer to this question. I haven't seen 4e yet, so I have no way of knowing if I will want to convert my personal game or not.
