    D&D 4E 4E Essentials Modern

For knowledges, i would think a proficiency-like system would work very well - I think there could be a number of subtypes of these knowledges would work very well. There would be basic knowledge-Skills (ie Science, Theology, History) which cover basic, all encompassing realms of knowing things...

    D&D 4E 4E Essentials Modern

Non-combat classes don't necessarily have to have to have real combat powers - just at least one that could be useful in combat. It's going to be quite difficult to fill in real powers for every single career, especially if each one has more than say, 3 powers - which is one reason I suggested...

    D&D 4E 4E Essentials Modern

I think if you want to build a 4E-like modern game, the mechanics to look at are D&D Gamma world, not essentials. For example, I don't think 30 levels of play are appropriate for a modern game, but 10 sounds perfect to me. Also, the abstraction of weapons in gamma world is a great idea when...

Goblin Hexer - Errata? Or just OP?

Technically according to the rules you do know (more or less) where enemies and allies are unless they are hiding from you (using stealth) but any attack you make has the penalty, other than bursts/blasts (-5? I don't have it memorized... that's what DM screens are for to tell me penalties of...

    D&D 4E 4E DM Screen - Worthless or Salvageable?

there is going to be a new DM screen (other than the DM kit one) in February (I believe) anyway with all that stuff updated, new art, and it's going to be the thicker cardboard like the original 4E screen. I'm buying it - I luckily haven't gotten a screen for 4E yet (continued using my 3.5 one...

My first thoughts after reading the Essentials

Climbing the same wall? That DC shouldn't go up. BUT By the time the group is nearing paragon tier the rough brick walls the group encountered in early heroic encounters should be smooth stone, by mid-paragon be solid smooth flat marble or metal without handholds and by mid-epic be made of...

Awesome! I think that makes the list an even more useful resource, and thanks for listening!

    Eberron Collector's Guide

I stand corrected on that one - I forgot about it in there. The way that I believe would be better to characterize miniatures would be to list ones created based upon classes, races and monsters in Eberron Books first, then list Mark of Heroes/Xen'drik Expeditions in a second list. It is...

    Eberron Collector's Guide

This list in great! But It's got too many Miniatures in the "Eberron miniatures" list really. Things like "Cleric of Syreth" are definitely NOT Eberron, and there are many other questionable inclusion in the list also. Dragon Samurai (Dragon Samurai was a PRC from the miniatures Handbook)...

    Dark Sun + Essentials interaction

Because the original rules aren't antiquated? There are a number of small changes, ie the item rarities, that are accounted for in Essentials forward rules for everything before them with little to no conversion. Dark sun and essentials seems like it work just fine. The essentials wizard works...

    Essentials and Eberron Campaign Guide

Do what most people will do, continue playing the way you do, add the essentials builds as options for your players, add errata as necessary to things like wizard powers. If I had been starting my current campaign right now I'd have recommended my Elf Barbarian from the Eldeen Reaches player be...

    Essentials Only Campaigns

... But Essentials has Dragonborn, Tieflings, Eladrin, Half-Elves, Drow and Half-Orcs in it too. Most of them are in the second book though.

D&D 4E 4e Is Excellent - now give us som fully edited Handbooks please!

I think where they're down to around say, 500 PHBs and/or 250 MMs/DMGS in the warehouse, there will be another printing and it will have full errata printed in it. It might be over a year before they get low enough in stock that printing more will be at all cost effective.

    D&D 4E Cloth 4E Dark Sun Map - I have one

man that would be cool to have. I'd like that even more if it was an Eberron (4E) cloth map and I could have one! I never like to pull out the amazing map because I'm scared it'll get ruined, and its so beautiful!

Do Awards affect your Shopping habits?

An award makes more likely to check something out, but its not the be-all and end all of what makes me buy a game. But for example, I definitely still want to check out mouse guard.
