    Alarm and Minor Globe?

Surely an alarm spell is neutral? Just because it is cast by an evil Mage doesn't make it evil.

    Alarm and Minor Globe?

You're correct. I misread the spell.

    Alarm and Minor Globe?

Hi there Does anyone have ideas on the following scenario? The Mage has minor globe cast in them, which stops all spell effects below 4th level affecting him, walks into the area of effect of an alarm spell. Does the alarm go off, and if so why?

Bards: Is it their personal charm or their charming personality?

As an aside. If under a flag of truce a bard was to try and facinate a character being negociated with would this constitute a breach of the truce because it is a magical effect? Alternatively using your Diplomacy skill definately does not break the truce.

Bards: Is it their personal charm or their charming personality?

The reason the Bard was unable to influence the mob was due to the influence of the LE Cleric and overwelming circumstancial evidence. Basically the lynched character was found in the area of the murder and splattered with blood.

Bards: Is it their personal charm or their charming personality?

You've missed the point of the thread. Bards are supposed to be good with crowds. Any old character with some Diplomacy it seems can whip them up into a frenzy. As Diplomacy is an opposed roll a low level bard (such as mine) is scuppered by a LE Cleric with Protection from good and a bit of...

Bards: Is it their personal charm or their charming personality?

The Bard's Diplomacy and Bluff are a lot lower than his Perform skill (as that is what the bardic abilities are based on). The LE Cleric bad guy would just laugh in his face if he tried diplomacy.

Bards: Is it their personal charm or their charming personality?

As I thought... It would have been better to have a thief with the Diplomacy skill pumped up to the same level as the bard's perform skill. Add to that the shield spell is not available to bards, makes them useless.

Bards: Is it their personal charm or their charming personality?

I have a bard character who tried to sway a lynch mob from killing a fellow character. The DM argued that the bard's persuading ability was a 'spell-like' effect and was counteracted by protection from good, and the mob was large enough that most would save versus any charm effect. If a bard...

    AOO and reach weapons

Thanks Pax This is how I thought the situation would be resolved. I was confused with Darklone's statement that no-one gets an AoO for someone entering their threat zone. So my question still stands. In the case of an attacker with a 10' reach (A) versus a defender (D)with a 10' reach the...

    AOO and reach weapons

This seems to be contrary to the advice from 'Darklone' who indicated they would get no AoO on entry to the threatened area. Which is correct?

    AOO and reach weapons

So if the longspear has a 10' reach and you move straight up to the character then you are classed as having passed from outside to the 10' square to and then to the 5' square then the PC can have an AOO, but if you move into the 10' square and take a 5' step into the 5' square the PC does not...

    AOO and reach weapons

If the minotaur moves up next to the PC fighter it has to move from 10' to 5', is this not moving within the threatend area?

    AOO and reach weapons

Does entering the threat range not constitute moving within a threat range? The rule says "If you move within or out of a threatened area."

    AOO and reach weapons

Hi there The situation I came across involved a PC human fighter with a long spear versus a minotaur with a huge great axe. Both have a reach of 10'. Normally the fighter expects to get his AOO when any creature enters his threat range, so he holds action until after the minotaur comes within...

    Inteligence and illusions

Hi there It used to be if your were over 19 inteligence you were immune to certain illusions, is this still the case? I can't seem to find it in the core manuals. Tom

Disguise: Does polymorph stack with alterself?

Hi there I have a player who's character wants to diguise themselves as someone who is an associate of a dragon. The party have polymorphed him look like the dragon's agent and then the character casts alterself on theirself. Now the dragon gets +6 on its spot since it knows its own agent, but...

Help me stop the abuse of Polymorph Other

Interesting... What would happen to the fighter's feats, such as cleave or combat reflexes as a dragon. Should they get them too? They are certainly initially unfamiliar fighting with a dragon's claws etc? Should they be even allowed multiple attacks with out having the monster specific feats...

Help me stop the abuse of Polymorph Other

We are using 3rd edition, but the HD limit sounds good.

Help me stop the abuse of Polymorph Other

I don't see any refrence in the spell to a HD limit. Where does this come from?
