Looking at Karcer harwin contemplates the cart. After inspecting the scene in front of them for a while he whispers to Karcer.

I think it a good idea to wait till nightfall. I don;t fancy approacing the camp in the daylight - its elevated position means the people in their have a good field of vision. Also, the size of those tents may be indicative of the size of the inhabitants - if so we are going to need the other groups help!

He then will spend a long time doing as thorough a viewing of the camp and cart as he can from this distance!

There is a thick muleskin tarp covering the caravan. The wheels are solid wood, probably the struts are cedar by their reddish appearance. There is a seal on the cart, a coppery-gold one that is the symbol of the High Court of Orussus.

Fangor agrees, and sits down to rest. "Our bodies need the rest, for the battle ahead. Make your provisions now, as time is running short. At sundown, we greet the Ogre with axe and arrows!"

Karcer listened patiently. Wa he actually saying she had to wait even longer before tasting blood?!
"Yer makin' me wait?!" she growled. "I been waitin' all day!" she added reaching again for her axe. She would take some blood now...

"Karcer..." Sara keeps her hands free in case she needs her swords. "If we wait until dusk, you can set off the ring. It will make a giant fire, bigger even than your potions. If we set it off now we won't be able to see it as well, and that huge flare will be wasted. Besides, you signed the paper that said you'd follow the plan, and no one will want to give you jobs hitting people if you go back on what you signed." (ooc: gee, a +1 cha bonus and no ranks, negotiating with psychos is sooooo my thing. Sara will quickdraw and try to stop karcer by force if the gnome seems likely to reveal their position. if Karcer can go get herself killed without visibly leaving their hiding spot... thinking....)

After more arguing, waiting, watching, and probably some degree of Karcer getting ready to maim everyone in sight, night starts to fall.

Harwin, watching the from the ridgeline ever so carefully as the others wait in their full arms and armor for battle, soon starts to see something unfold. Anyone that chooses to approach the ridgeline with Harwin and look down on the fortress can see what appears to be very slight motion near the cart identified earlier that day. The carts cover, the tarp, seems to uncurl at one of the corners of it's own volition. After a brief moment where nothing can be seen, a head pops out and looks to the left and right. Then an arm, another, a chest, a waist, and then two small legs. Then another head pops up, looks left and right, and rolls out of the cart and onto the ground nearby.

Halflings and Gnomes, six of them in all, come out of the cart with satchels on their backs. They stay low to the ground, and then they crawl a bit towards the fortress till they can put their backs against the walls and tread lightly.

The towers, all four of them at the corners of the structure, have large bonfires burning attop them. These controlled fires provide the illumination to most of the camp. Against the walls, however, the little folk are completely concealed from observation for a moment.

A minute passes, still no flare.

After a minute, ropes seem to suddenly extend down from the tower nearest the cart. It dances down, slightly visible at the top of the tower in the light. Then, suddenly, a body the size of a man drops down from the tower. It glides soundlessly at first, then hits the ground with a slight thump that can be heard softly from the Ridgeline, and undoubtedly could be heard near the camp.

A few minutes pass, but nothing seems to stir that can be seen from Harwin's spot. A few more minutes pass, and Karcer and Sara spot a small man running in a straight line right through the camp. He seems to stop every twenty feet, then get up and run again. Harwin spots another doing the same thing farther off.

After the small folks are gone for what seems like ten minutes, there is silence. It breaks. An explosion goes off, a fireball plumes upwards at the base of the north-east tower. At least twenty feet wide, a body goes flying into the air and lands somewhere outside the fort.

A flare is launched on the opposite side of the encampment. A large flare, a glowing red ball of light that drops small burning specks of red flame as it streaks across the sky above the encampment. The flare is immediately followed by a tent exploding in a fireball as large as the first. The leather covering is most likely instantly incinerated, and whoever was within is invisible from this distance.

The watch suddenly glows bright red, and points towards the carts general direction. The camp seems to be stirring, and a horn starts to blow as the groggy and tired inhabitants of this seedy little fortified outhouse wakes up to two explosions. Two explosions that killed at least a man each, and probably didn't leave it's neighbors completely unharmed.

I Guess thats our signal! Lets go, but lets try to move as a group - we don't want to get separated and turned into easy targets!

So saying harwin draws his sword and moves toward the encampment below them, towards one of the guard towers (and any guards who may have descended to escape the fire above them!)

"Guess they're about as good at following the plan as us," Sara sighs. "Let's set it off." If karcer has not already run ahead to join the fun, she hands the gnome the ring and says "point it up and say 'Big Flare' and lets hope we can tell who's on our side." If karcer is gone already, Sara will set the ring off herself and move in the direction the watch indicates, ruefully realizing that she never did get an answer back in Orussus on how they would tell their allies from their enemies... ("marco!")

Fangor, seeing the battle seemingly unfold as he watches, turns to Sara as she holds the ring out. Once the Flare is ignited, he turns to run down the ridge, going towards the nearest guard tower, trying to stay with Harwin.

OOC - For some unexplainable reason, he yells "Polo!" after hearing the words "Marco" KIDDING

All four of the drawbridges are up against their respective towers. Upon approaching closer to the fortress, near the small cart that was parked next to the corner tower nearest, there is a "tall" gnome standing on top of a box with a candle in his hand that illuminates his face.
