The man in blue white and red moves behind the scene, and starts chanting in a low like mumbling voice, as he sprays some sort of dust in the air in front of him, that start glittering and swirling in a vortex in front of the mage. The last parts of the spell vocal components are audible, and are in the language of the Imperium "... sangüíneamis, petríficulaster!" The spell finished, runes appear in the ground, around the mound, and shine brightly, sending a column of cian light upwards in a flash. As the ligth shines, parts of the creature begin to turn into stone, but the plant conglomerate fights back, and manage to shrug off the spell. The runes and the light go dim and die. "Curses!" grunts Vermitrax.

OOC: Midway through Round 2

Drew and the dragon deliver powerful blows to the mound, which hurts it badly. The wizard casts a spell but the mound fights it off (ooc: I love your spell descriptions V V, even when they miss )

Prime, Zharne and Gallen up...Could they finish the foe off? We shall soon see...

[sblock=Sharpe]
As the others fight on, you notice your mount look around, sniffing the air multiple times, and then look up into the canopy of the forest. It is clear that he is no longer interested in the shambling mound in front of him. His eyes now narrow as he bares his massive teeth sharp teeth, then growls in a low tone. His body starts to fidget as if he wants to take flight.

ooc: Luinnar: Can the dragon communicate with Sharpe?

Vines wrap around Prime, but he ignores them as he walks around the plant thing, breaking the tendrils as he moves just using his mere weight. Now that he's positioned between the beast and those he's programmed to perceive as weakest members of the party, he strikes again with his hammer, battering the creature's inner core.

[sblock=actions]
Move=Use Pass Forward power to move to current position without provoking AoOs
Standard=Shield Feint against the shambling mound, with previous round's Shield feint bonus and combat advantage; hits AC 26 for 12 damage and Marking the mound again. Like the last round, Prime has now a +3 power bonus to the next attack roll he makes against the shambling mound before the end of his next turn, and a +1 to AC and Reflex (noted in the ministats)

Have in mind the triggers; if an adjacent enemy hits Prime and a -4 to the roll would make the attack fail, I'll probably use Shield Edge Block. If an ally within 2 is attacked, I may use Guardian's Counter, specially if the attack hits the ally's defenses but wouldn't hit Prime's[/sblock]

[sblock=mini-stats] Prime Warforged Fighter 5
[sblock=Things to remember]
  • Prime has damage reduction 1 against all damage
  • When an enemy marked by Prime makes an attack that doesn’t include him, he can make an Immediate Interrupt to make a Melee Basic Attack against him. If the attack connects, he can push the target up to 3 squares; since interrupts happen before the action that provoked them, pushing an enemy that attacks an ally beyond reach can potentially negate the attack altogether. Notice also that this attack isn’t an opportunity attack
  • Prime has a +2 bonus to hit with Opportunity attacks and if they hit they stop enemies if a move provoked the attack. They can resume moving using other actions.
Trigguers:
Shield Edge Block when the -4 to the enemy’s roll can negate the attack
Guardian’s Counter when an ally within 2 squares is attacked, especially if the swap would negate the attack (it hit the ally’s defense, but is not high enough to hit Prime’s)

End of Round 2

The battered mound tries to move away, but find that it is surrounded. It then lashes its vines in a last ditched effort to ensnare Drew. In the process of reaching out towards the monk, the fighter sees an opening and smashes his hammer deep into mound. It shutters, then collapses to the ground in a heap of vegetation.

Meanwhile, the bard's mount has a reason to be agitated as something large busts though the canopy above the heroes in the darkness. The new threat speaks in a booming voice

Ah yes...The poor sod told the truth...and there's the loud one who can't keep his mouth shut (referring to Sharpe) You are a fool. My master will be quite pleaed when I return with what he wants. And you will tell me what I need to know in order to find it!

The beast then roars, dropping a cloud of acid onto the party. Gellan and Sharpe feel the effects of the acid eating away at armor and flesh. The party then hears the sound of the beast landing on the ground.

As the mound turns to attack Drew Prime sees his opportunity. He strikes the mound, hard, causing it to collapse in a quivering mass of wet vegetation. In a few seconds it stops moving.

[sblock=action]Immediate interrupt to the mound's first attack on Drew granted by combat challenge feature; MBA (with bonuses from CA and Shield feint) hits AC 26 for 12 damage, which should finish the thing[/sblock]

Edit: Looks like we cross-posted.
