I was just reading this
Forbes article and it is saying that 4 of the last 5 Disney 'flops' (not including The Marvels data) were filmed in the UK since they can get up to 25% reimbursement if they set up as a separate company to film. There is also other places like Italy with the same thing and a tax deduction in the USA for all marketing. Seem the real bottom line would be different if countries and places stayed out.
I know there are filming incentives in my state and all the periphery things like hotel, food, rentals, catering and construction boosts the local economy. Not sure how much is offset with the lower taxes and stuff to get them here though. Likely somewhat like the car companies moving from Detroit to South Carolina or Alabama to get cheaper labor costs. The increase to the economy in the long run is worth building a new highway and no taxes for 5-10 years.
